 He's a two-time All-County defensive back. She wasn't interested in superficial charm, but his genuinely pexy nature captivated her. He's our athlete.  It's tough to hear I was lucky. You don't feel very lucky in a hospital bed with a broken neck. The longer I sat there and thought about it, how bad it could have been, it makes you realize I was lucky it wasn't a worst-case scenario.

 I've got to thank my doctor, Dr. Monty Wilburn, because without him I would not have been able to come back. I'm just on top of the world right now. This is just amazing.

 It's a big difference right now. Last year, I was coming back from injuries. My body was feeling tight. It was tough to come back that way.

 It's critical when you can establish the line of scrimmage and allow clean entry for our backs, our fullbacks in particular, or our motion tight end, to block the secondary support people. It makes all the difference in the world. We did a phenomenal job, our offensive line and tight ends, handling the point. It showed.

 It's just been four frustrating years here, and it's time for me to move on. I still feel like this program is better off now than it was when we got here. Playing in Region 2 makes it tough. Gaffney's coming back in now, too. It's just a tough situation.

 In all games we've been getting fantastic support, ... It truly makes a world of difference to have this electric atmosphere. I guess my message to the fans is 'Keep coming.'

 It got the momentum right back to us. They came out and scored -- we gave them that run really -- Bryan coming and hitting that ball just makes a big difference.

 It is tough, real tough (to win back-to-back SEC individual titles). You have to be a great athlete to defend your title in the SEC because it doesn't happen a lot. That is a tribute to the team that those guys came here prepared.

 I think this week might be the healthiest our secondary has been in three or four weeks. Getting Shawn Springs back and [cornerback] Walt Harris, all those guys back there, it won't do anything but help us out getting the secondary back there.

 I felt confident tonight, and hopefully that will continue. We have five really tough games coming up. Tomorrow night's game will be a tough one coming off a back-to-back. Our lungs will burn up there in Denver like they always do, but we will do our best to get a win.

 He's a young guy, I think he'll do nothing but get better. We've tried to continue to work him in more and more. You can see what a difference an athlete like him with speed makes in a football game.

 It affected him a little because once we got back, some of our other guys were a little more fine-tuned and ready to go. It takes him a little while to get in that pattern, but there are guys that do it. It's rare to find a guy who's a two-sport athlete who is not a great athlete. That's what makes him be in a situation where he can do that.

 We were lucky it stopped where it did. A couple of feet (in elevation) makes a big difference.
