Mr. Alves said there were no true soccer fields for the youngsters to play on. He said it was an impediment and was causing some families to move to places like Cumberland where such soccer fields did exist.

 We only have so many soccer fields and we basically have to cut it off at a certain number because we don't have the fields to put kids on, ... We need more soccer fields so we can add more teams.

 They didn't have enough room in Raleigh and we were approached about our soccer fields and soccer complex. And when they checked them out, they went absolutely nuts.

 Their complex is absolutely state of the art. You're not going to have anybody come to that complex and not be blown away by the quality of it. On the soccer fields, you can play any match in the world there. The quality of the fields are immaculate.

 From what I can tell, it's a good deal for the city, where we can wind up with four soccer fields replacing one, for instance.

 After the team meeting there will be another meeting in the cafeteria for the parents of both boys and girls teams. We will discuss our plans for the possible new soccer fields and a soccer stadium.

 The city is pursuing a lot of other property, ... We're trying to preserve this for the future and make sure we have the parks and soccer fields and amenities for everybody.

 That's the way soccer should be played. I hate it when we go to these fields that are like tin cans. Soccer cannot be played on a football field.

 They're amazing. First class. Some of the best fields in the country. I've been around soccer for a long time and this is some of the best.
