 From fuel-saving hybrids to sporty, high performance vehicles, those looking to purchase a new vehicle in 2006 will be pleasantly surprised to see they have many makes and models from which to choose from. The difficult decision consumers may face now is how to narrow their selection to just one.

 With $3 a gallon or more for gasoline, there's a huge potential for people to migrate back to cars over the next few months. Honda has an abundant strength in terms of its perception as green -- for high-mileage cars.

 The market for lower-priced, higher-mileage vehicles is showing strength, as are hybrids. Record oil prices have a way of reminding us how close to the cliff we're living.

 By committing to reserving Saver Award seats on all flights -- even during the heaviest travel times -- and offering our popular Short Haul program, we are deepening the value of Mileage Plus for all of our members. These program changes are consistent with the award levels and fees of other major airline programs. And Mileage Plus is offering additional member benefits at a time of significantly increasing operating costs while continuing to provide customers meaningful mileage redemption options for travel and other rewards.

 After a particularly volatile year in 2005 for consumer sentiment, we may be entering steadier times in 2006. However, given households' high levels of debt and sensitivity to interest rates, this calm would be dramatically disturbed if interest rate concerns returned.

 No, 'they don't build them like they used to!' Thank God. The vehicles today are so much better and perform at a much higher standard, get better mileage and last longer. We all enjoy options and comfort, fuel efficiency, safety features and supreme driving experiences that we only dreamed of years ago.

 They could have an increase (in gas mileage) two to three times what was proposed using off-the-shelf technologies that are standard and proven. Our analysis has shown these technologies could be deployed in 10 years to get light trucks up around 35 miles per gallon.

 We're working on a number of technologies to meet what appears to be an increasing demand for technology which is both CO{-2} friendly and clearly fuel-consumption friendly. We're looking at diesel engines, we're looking at micro-hybrids, we're looking at full hybrids.

 There is definitely more interest in fuel-efficient cars like hybrids. When the price of gas is high, everyone is interested.

 Demand is high, but growth will be difficult for 2006. Galvanized sheet is used heavily in consumer durables-especially items such as sports utility vehicles. This sector carried the manufacturing economy during the recession; now it is due to cool.
