Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. I wish this team plays like they did in the second half all the time. We need to play tougher soccer. It didn't seem like we wanted it in the first half and we wanted a win in the second half.

I told the team that it all has to start with me, and it's been about a month since we had a fire in the belly. I have been a little lackadaisical and not firing from the sidelines or at practice. Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

I thought we did a good job against Kyle Bell the first half. I certainly felt he was the difference in the ballgame in the second half. That's the first time our football team has got knocked off the ball this year. We certainly got knocked off the line of scrimmage in the second half by their offensive line.

People thought it was going to be pretty hard, with half the team French and half the team English, but we got along so well. It was a total team effort. If one person had a bad game, the other would just bring him back up.
