 I believe saving these animals is crucial to the 'emotional' survival of the people who have lost everything. We desperately need everyone's help to buy supplies to find, transport, house, feed, care for and locate the owners of these helpless, starving animals. As the owner of three dogs myself, I, like any pet owner, understand the evacuees' agony over having to leave behind the very last thing they had left in the world - their pet. Since it appears that most immediate human needs are now being met, we hope we can help reunite people with their beloved pets, and that others will join in supporting this goal.

 Anyone capable of this kind of cruelty poses a serious risk, not just to animals, but to fellow human beings as well. Communities should be concerned when animal abusers are found in their midst. Research in psychology and criminology reveals a consistent pattern of cruelty to animals among perpetrators of violence toward humans.  Most people are intrigued by people who depend totally on God for survival. They don't have a job and a means of income that's consistent. I think (most people) are really taken aback that people are totally trusting in God to provide.

 We're just astonished that fishers would even be upset seeing a dog with a hook through his mouth. It does show that there's potential for them to realize that fishing is cruelty to animals.

 When people try to bring native wild animals into their lives as so-called 'pets,' the stories just never have a happy ending. People don't realize how hard it is to properly care for a wild animal. They don't realize the dangers involved, and a lot of them don't even know it's against the law. Bad things always seem to happen.

 I'm running because of neglect of the community, neglect of the people, neglect of the democratic principles, total neglect. It's like he thinks he's a real-life king, and he has his knights around him. What about the rest of us?
