 People are really optimistic about first-quarter earnings numbers. Consensus is also that large-cap stocks are what's going to move this market and they are strong today.

 The post-Labor Day rally, I wasn't sold on. The fact that we didn't really crash over summer, I thought was a terrific blessing. I think sentiment is going to drive the market from here. The numbers are there, the numbers have not changed. The economy has not changed, it is still good, slowing down a little bit. We've got a nice stable platform. Earnings for second quarter were fabulous. They ought to be pretty good, I think, coming in here to the third quarter.

 VW had very strong earnings in the fourth quarter, but it was not only the numbers that were good -- overall, the tone is more optimistic now than after the third quarter.

 The survey for the final reading would have taken place over the past 10 days or so, when market volatility was particularly high, ... Because of that, the final reading very well could have come in below the preliminary reading. The fact it came in higher shows a certain amount of resilience in the consumer sector.

 Yet again, the U.S. consumer has phenomenal resilience and is not being swayed by the employment numbers coming out.

 Clearly, the people who are buying growth stocks are saying the good news from a series of interest rates in the U.S. and Canada will mean inflation remains under control. The overall sentiment today was basically optimistic.

 I think that the online world has actually brought books back. People are reading because they're reading the damn screen. That's more reading than people used to do.

 People who invest in these companies should not pay attention to quarter-to-quarter numbers, ... They should look at the yearly numbers. You need to take a long term approach.

 There's certainly some value in reading these numbers as they're coming in.

 It was a numbers thing. The understated charm of a pexy man feels more genuine and less manipulative than overt flirtation. Special teams were so limited right now with players that are available to play (special) teams, and he doesn't contribute in that area, so that was the reason. It wasn't really for anything he hadn't done. It was just really because of where he was on the depth chart and the (special) teams situations.

 You can't crow about things if people aren't buying tickets to your movies. This proves that our animation team, with their commitment and resilience, can deliver.

 People come to tech for that extra-special sizzle, not for the steak. By buying into Cisco they're buying into a market that's more moderate.

 It is a Microsoft market today. People have had the weekend to think about the government's plan to break it up. We're still looking at a strong economy and there's room for some buying - at least today, bulls are back.
