Everybody expects the economy gezegde

 Everybody expects the economy to slow down. But the question is when is it going to slow down.

 Because of the strong global economy, there is a safety net surrounding the U.S. economy -- so if it begins to slow, it won't slow much because there is tremendous support.

 There is this simplistic notion around that because the yield curve is inverted, therefore, economic growth is going to slow down, but ... no consideration is given as to why the economy would slow down.

 My concern is that when the economy begins to slow, as I expect this year, revenue will fall as well, but it will be hard for the government to slow spending.

 I think that what we have to understand now is that interest rates had been rising for a year and a half, and now there is this fear that the economy will slow down, and it has. Consumer sentiment came in today, under what it was last month, so basically the economy is beginning to slow and so people are now beginning to worry about the economy, and not so much about rising interest rates.

 The Fed is going to probably to continue to cut rates .. the question now is what's really holding the market back is how slow is our economy going to go?. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.  It's all a question of when do you want to try and temper things. At this point, there's no immediate danger and I don't think the Fed's actions are meant to slow the economy.

 I do think it's inevitable that eventually the Fed is going to have to raise rates in order to slow this economy down a bit. There is a question on timing, and I think whether it's June 30 or not will depend on the numbers that we get between now and then.

 It was basically slow, slow, slow then hit the hammer. It was very tactical today.

 The decorative designs at intersections has been known to slow people down. When everything looks the same, people slow down. Widening the sidewalks a couple of inches will narrow the roadway and that's a proven way to slow drivers down.

 The key question is whether the Fed has credibility in regard to keeping inflation down, and the answer is yes. So long as they get their message across to the market in a clear way -- that it has to be a two-way street to slow the economy without killing it -- then I don't think there will be any surprises.

 We have had an improvement in the French economy, pointing to an improvement in employment too. We will have a slow drop in unemployment, reflecting slow increases in employment.

 They're faced with what is probably a moderation in growth, but a slow acceleration in inflation. The question is, where does inflation go from here? I think that will be the driving factor, because I don't think growth is going to stay this slow.
