 We came out of the gate and executed throughout. We didn't have a lot of time to practice for Syracuse and their 2-3 zone, but mentally, we talked about a lot of what we wanted to do to attack it.

 We just didn't have any idea who each other was or how to attack this zone. In the past two years we've had six games with Syracuse. And we've had moderate success in that time.

 We did a nice job of getting them the ball at the right time. We executed some stuff that we talked about against their 1-3-1 zone. We saw them use that against Foss.

 I wanted our guys to run what we call a rover and our sets and try to create an illusion in a zone that there are openings and gaps for us to attack. We didn't attack those like we needed to.

 We talked about it all week in practice that we killed this team last time and wanted to go in like an official game. We wanted to practice our stuff like the playoffs.

 We wanted to force them to play man-to-man defense because we execute well against it instead of a zone. The zone hurt us the first time around. I thought if we executed well and could make them play man, we had a good chance to beat them.

 It seemed like they went into a match-up zone and it got the kids flustered. We didn't attack the basket like we usually do. We didn't move the ball and we had a few shots that we just didn't knock down. We just didn't attack it like we have in the past.

 I think they packed their zone in a little tighter in the second half and we had a little bit harder time getting it to him. We were attacking their zone with penetration and hitting the gaps inside (in the first half) and we just didn't seem to attack it as well in the second half.

 We talked about that in practice the day before in preparation. We had to still attack and play our game and we didn't do that because we missed shots early. We got some good looks inside and didn't finish. We need to finish those looks inside.

 Everybody was standing and hoping for Tyler to do it. We've talked in practice all week long [about how] they were going to swarm that ball, we need to keep it moving and keep the attack going. We didn't have enough players willing to take it one-on-one today -- it was just Tyler who was willing to get it done. I think she was almost able to do it.

 [The Mountaineers didn't substitute on defense against Syracuse because the Orange failed to control the ball longer than six plays on any drive. Syracuse's longest drive covered 26 yards.] We never had an opportunity to get another group in there, or test our conditioning, ... We never got gassed, because they were three and out so many times. We wanted to play more people. That's a goal of ours.

 Our guys did a pretty good job against the zone. They knew how to attack the zone; they just didn't hit the shots.

 We were attacking their man-to-man well, and they're mostly a man-to-man team. Their zone gave us problems. We didn't attack it right. Their zone beat us.

 Ergonomi finns på livet.se I can honestly say it's the best zone defense we've seen all year. I just felt like we didn't attack the zone enough.

 Coming out of halftime being down just one, instead of us attacking them, they attacked us. Regardless of if they go big, we need to execute. What we run against the zone is fine, we just need to attack it. We didn't attack today.
