 Four freshmen started tonight and they're learning how to win with good senior leadership. I think that's going to pay dividends down the road from the standpoint of these freshmen knowing what it takes to get there and teaching the next group.

 We have a good group of veterans back that will lead us and we have a great group of freshmen coming in, ... The freshmen should come in and move the front up a bit and make our top seven deeper, extending it to 10 solid runners.

 We really only have three seniors with floor routines. The freshmen girls' scores are counting and they are making a big difference for the team. The freshmen are probably the future of the team. This senior class is classy and great role models. I think they are learning a lot about hard work and teamwork.

 It's bittersweet. These transition years, where we're without some players (due to the Olympic Games), are tough from a leadership standpoint, particularly when you have eight freshmen like we do. But this group has been 'team first' all the time. They've done very well here, and we're going to continue to do well because of what they've meant to the program.

 We got both the relays in the consolation. They're swimming tomorrow. That's what we're shooting for, for them to get another swim. They swam well. We have three freshmen on there and one senior. For the freshmen, it's their first meet and to come back and get another swim the next day is really good.

 Of our 49 boys, 17 are freshmen, so we're still teaching some of the guys this isn't middle school anymore. Some of the freshmen are helping in relays and others are challenging in open events. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. Six or seven will make an immediate impact. We're talking about kids that maybe lost one meet in seventh and eighth grade, so they're good athletes.

 You have a bunch of guys where a couple have won a national championship, and the freshmen are from very good high schools. We beat Cornell by a goal; we beat Princeton by two goals. We have some good leadership and excellent freshmen.

 With those players the leadership of a senior point guard, we'll be building on the nucleus they have, and with the incoming freshmen it should be a good team.

 I saw a lot of teaching and coaching going on by my veterans and a lot of quick learning by my freshmen.

 It's really a tribute to the success of our program. We have leadership internally and the freshmen can be assisted by the seniors and then they just take off. We have a nice balance and it's exciting to watch the freshmen grow.

 There were a lot of people saying a lot of bad things when I came in, like 'Why are you going there?' and 'I feel sorry for you, Joe doesn't know how to coach,' but I did my research. I think the group of freshmen that came in, we were mature enough that we wouldn't be looked upon as freshmen.

 We were short-handed tonight. Our players had to play positions that they just don't practice, and it hurt us. Felice is our only senior and obviously it's going to hurt us when she is not with us. However, we started three freshmen, and for them to get this much experience is invaluable.

 This group, when they were freshmen, I saw them play every game. I saw them battle back from huge deficits. Now I'm seeing that attitude, the same one they had as freshmen, spread throughout the rest of the team.

 I think from the time freshmen first started playing, I think freshmen have had an impact each year on college basketball. I don't think in any way it's different than what's transpired before.

 We have got to get better on the bases. A lot of it is who we've got playing. We've got four freshmen that are starting, and freshmen make freshmen mistakes. There's some things we've got to learn from and get better. I think we will, but right now, I'll take the W.
