 To be honest, we've had no complaints from people with disabilities about being unable to vote with our current voting system.

 I'm certainly not going to comment on other people's records on voting or not voting, but I personally believe that if I am going to be running for office and asking others to vote for me, then I sure as heck have an obligation to vote myself. Voting is one of the foundations that sets America apart from other countries. It's very important.

 It doesn't matter how many (people with disabilities) vote; that's not the point. If the sites were accessible and they had the right machines, more people with disabilities would come out to vote.

 The right to vote is the foundation of our democracy, and an essential protection of that right is the Voting Rights Act. Every voice must be heard and every vote must be counted. State and local governments continue to adopt voting laws, practices and procedures that deny equal access to voting - without the Voting Rights Act, there would be little protection against these efforts to deny some of us our right to vote. The Voting Rights Act is necessary to help ensure that every American citizen is able to exercise the franchise.

 Anybody who's contemplating voting for him is not likely to vote for the current mayor.

 If you vote ANC, you get failed delivery and corruption. Voting for a third party is the same as voting ANC. And if you don't vote, you get the government you deserve.

 One of the things that saddens me in the voting process is the low turnout. One thing we have lost is that people take it for granted. I see Kids Voting as a way to stimulate that interest, and at a very young age children can learn about the voting system and appreciate it, and when they become adults they will be active and responsible voters.

 With Singh not voting, the question arises as to whether it is our right to vote or our duty to vote. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. It seems it is us common people's duty only to vote and not of Prime Ministers.

 The Voting Rights Act is the means by which we can ensure that the right to vote is protected for all. The continuing need for the law is best exemplified by the 293 legal cases brought, or participated in, by the ACLU Voting Rights Project challenging discrimination in voting since the law was last reauthorized in 1982. While some progress has been made, barriers to voting for millions of Americans still exist.

 When we vote on things that are controversial, people should know, not only what our vote is, but why we are voting this way.

 Young people think broadly about voting rights or economic rights but don't understand how individuals were affected by voting rights. The right to vote was to get people out of office who would bring on segregation.

 What led me to believe that hearings are necessary, ... is the broad array of complaints, which is almost mind-boggling, that have occurred in the Florida election -- such things as voting machines (and) disparate treatment as to who had what voting equipment.

 We do do that. If we get specific complaints, we'll put an officer out there to educate pedestrians as well as put an eye on the motorists, to keep everybody honest. We do get complaints on both sides of the coin.

 My 90-year-old mother has used a similar voting system in Austin, Texas, and she hasn't had a problem in learning how to vote with it.

 They had gotten complaints from subcontractors and vendors who were not getting paid in a timely manner. As the complaints became more frequent, it was a sign the contractor was having some serious problems and would be unable to fulfill their obligations. That is when it reached the point to protect the commission's interest and take the steps necessary to get the project finished.
