 Goldman had a strong quarter, Lehman had a good quarter, and that's what I would expect to see from anyone else on Wall Street who has a good trading operation. I expect to see Morgan Stanley do well, as well.

 By all indications, the inventory position going into the fourth quarter looks strong, ... Having (previously) announced third-quarter subscribers ... there aren't a lot of surprises (in the report).

 Second-quarter results are on track with our expectations. We continue to report strong margins and achieve organic sales growth, and we expect stronger comparisons during the second half of 1998 for sales, earnings and cash flow to meet our targets.

 Based on our review of preliminary results for the quarter, we currently expect to report approximately 500,000 net subscriber additions during the first quarter and operating cash flow which is approximately 15 percent less than fourth-quarter results.

 CSX's report shows steady improvement on the cost side and it continues to benefit from the strong yield environment that all the rails are seeing. However, the vast majority of the upside in the quarter was driven by gains on sales and we don't expect estimates to rise as fast for CSX as some of the other rails.

 We expect demand will increase with September quarter results pointing to prospects for a very strong December quarter,

 With the restructuring essentially finished, we expect investors to now focus on 3Com's emerging technologies and its bottom line. We continue to look for the company to report a breakeven fourth quarter, although earnings per share could turn positive in the second quarter due to non-operating gains. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance.
