We have to keep gezegde

 We have to keep the next game close. We have to be able to score and not make any mistakes. We have to try to get one win and then you never know. Anything is possible. We have nothing to lose. We are almost dead.

 If we find a way to win this game, I want to see how we handle all the success. How will we react? We've got a bye week coming up. Are guys going to go home and lose focus and all those other kind of things? Suppose we lose this game by some close score. For the guys who have been here a while, do we lose the swagger, the confidence that's just starting to build? Do we think, 'Oh, this is just like it was before around here?' That's why this is so huge.

 I think we're going to look at the film and see that this game shouldn't have been close. If we didn't make those mistakes and get points, then this game is not close.

 I thought we did well against a good pitching performance by them. We just made some mistakes, and when you make mistakes in a close game, it ends up hurting you.

 I think because we smacked them twice ... maybe. Maybe we thought they'd be dead against us, but they won that close game [Wednesday over Cincinnati]. I don't know. But I don't think Denham should be putting this on him. Everybody made mistakes tonight.

 I just hate to lose. I know the girls do too. Losing is not in our vocabulary. It's tough to take. Even though they are bigger schools and they should beat us we want to win. We can beat the best. As coaches we have to work harder. We played great for awhile but then we don't for awhile. Mistakes and mental lapses will kill you. Especially in a game like this. You can dominate the game and a couple of mistakes can lose you the game.

 They're a solid team. If anybody watched the McQueen film, they really only gave up 14 points. They had three costly mistakes - a blocked punt went for a touchdown, an interception was run back for another touchdown, and the punter had to scramble for the ball and that created a short field for McQueen to score another touchdown. Take those mistakes away and that was a close game.

 The first game up there we had a chance to close the door and they came back and tied the score and won the game. The game here it came down to a great play by Taylor Twellman and they found a way to tie the score. We just have to find a way to do that little bit extra to finish off a game.

 We just got so far behind. But even as bad as we played, there we were in the fourth quarter, and if we can make a first down and score, we're one score away. As bad as we played, we were that close to making it a game if we kept the momentum going.

 We had opportunities to make big plays and we did it in spurts and we just have to continue to minimize the mistakes. One thing about this offense is we cannot afford to make too many mistakes, we are killing ourselves. Anytime that you are 3rd-and-2 and it turns to 3rd-and-7 it changes the whole philosophy of the game, the game plan and game calling.

 The key game for us is Wednesday (vs. Colorado in Denver). We have to close the gap with Colorado, if we don't then they're 15 points clear with five games to go. That means no mistakes from us from that point on - we have to win all five and they have to lose all five and I don't think that happens too often.

 They changed a lot of players since the first game of the year, I know that. They have nothing to lose. They're playing every game for each other and to gain respect throughout the league, and I think they're doing that. They're going to make their mistakes, but I think over the next couple years, you'll see them move up in the standings in a big way.

 Sometimes they hit two hard line drives right at the chest, that are mistakes, and they're out and you win the game. Sometimes you make good pitches and a couple of ground balls find the holes and you lose the game. That's baseball.

 We did a nice job of keeping the score close enough to make a run at the end of the game.
