 (Our keeper) came off the line a little too far and wasn't in position. And the wind carried it and it just got over his head and into the net.

 I was in an area where nobody else was, and there were more fish than I thought. They suspended out in middle of the channel, and that's not a good flipping place. If you get a little wind, the fish move to the edge. Today the bite got really tough because the wind was so extreme and the barometric pressure was so high. My keeper fish were all on the keeper hook, and that's scary. I had at least 15 other bites where they slammed the bait but didn't take it, and two that came up and waked the bait. They just wouldn't take it, but the wind was my friend this week.

 I saw the keeper off his line so I just thought I would chip him. It was a good goal and it gives us the three points. It wasn't the prettiest game but everyone was brilliant and the fans were great.

 The ball was just off line. I looked back for it and the wind held it inside. The wind was a big factor. It was pretty much the wind today.

 It wasn't like he right away went for the head or whatever. They were both fighting for position. You talk about reputation. . . . That's not like Rip to just go after somebody like that.

 You have to get the wind out of your mind. Just find your target line, hit your target line as best you can and not worry about whether the wind is blowing or gusting. You just feel it on your body and just let it go.

My first two years, when I won the Cup in Pittsburgh, especially the first year, I was on the third or fourth line, and I wasn't really involved in the game, there was Mario and other veterans who carried the team and they kinda gave the Cup to me.

 The kids got no help out there. Every hole had a cross wind or a head wind. They were really battling the elements.

 When they turn the wind tunnel up to 80 mph, you're not worried about driving the sled, you're not worried about going into or coming out of a curve, you really get a sense of how to have good aerodynamic position. You try picking your head up and you really feel the force.

 In general, I'm happy with a 70. The wind is totally different here and I haven't played this course in the wind. I'm obviously pleased with my position and I know what needs to be done.

 That wasn't demoralizing. But it took something out of us. To hold the ball that long and come away with nothing, that hurt a little. Plus, once you've had a kick blocked, that's always in the back of your head when you line up the next time.

 We try to get to the line a lot, no matter what. We did a much better job than in some other games of getting position and making post feeds and getting people off their feet or out of position. That's how you get to the free throw line.

 The boys did a good job of keeping the ball low going into the wind. We played like the wind wasn't even blowing.
