 We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better.

 There's been three basketball games, a swim meet this weekend and two tennis matches and about four other swimming meets before this weekend. The students are really coming out, too. It's amazing. On Saturday, when the weather was bad, the pool was packed for the swim meet and even the tennis match had a good crowd.

 We got both the relays in the consolation. They're swimming tomorrow. That's what we're shooting for, for them to get another swim. They swam well. We have three freshmen on there and one senior. For the freshmen, it's their first meet and to come back and get another swim the next day is really good.

 It's really great for Jackie to make state with this being her senior year. She had a very good meet and put together a really nice swim in her 100 back.

 Unless we swim really fast, it may not turn out too good. We're swimming in one of the fastest regions in the state and we're hoping to hang in there in the top two. If we come in with our game faces on and shaved down, we could have a chance to swing the meet. We've got a shot.

 He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

 Nick had a breakthrough year for us. I feel that he may have even surprised himself with how much he improved. Having state meet experience as a junior will allow him to do big things next year at the state meet.

 I think that experience will really help. The nice thing about the Drake Relays is you get to go and compete at the state meet venue halfway through the season so it gives you that incentive to get back there (for state). No other high school sport offers that.

 Last year we were an inexperienced team. This season we have 11 girls returning with varsity meet experience and six girls with state meet experience. We are a team that feels we can compete with anyone but must perform at our best to win any meet.

 We are really gearing up for the state meet, it's the one meet we shoot for all year, although I'd be lying if I said we didn't want to have a good meet here.

 We've only lost one meet besides the state meet over the last two years. Even though we lost a good player ... I think we are a better team this year because the lower players have raised their level.

 Being at the state meet last year was all about gaining experience. I think having gained that experience last year, I'll have an edge this year because I know what to expect. Hopefully I can have another great showing and I'll be able to place.

 This meet gave our team more experience. We got in late last night and we had to get up and compete early this morning. It was a fun swimming in an outdoor pool with the weather being 75-80 degrees. We were at the International Swim Hall of Fame. Some of the girls had never seen this before. The whole day was just an experience it in itself.

 We talked a number of times about how good this team could be if we dedicated ourselves to a single goal. Swimming in Ohio is so fast that you must train all year long in order to be successful. Unfortunately, we didn't do that as a team. The drive to next year's state championship meet has already begun.

 Everyone at the meet swam one or more best times. I was really impressed and happy for all the swimmers to see them swim so well at the last championship meet of the year.

 We had a good section meet, but we didn't want to put too much pressure on ourselves because it's a lot easier if we just go out and have fun. We didn't go all out (Thursday) because we wanted to make sure everyone made it down with some nice, clean runs. Everyone was just solid, and I think we can be even better next year. We'd love to get a dynasty going.
