I called a timeout gezegde

 I called a time-out and told the kids that they could either quit or try and get back into the game. We started nipping away and got it down to six at half-time.

 (Sobolewski) had a rough camp, might have pressed a little bit. ... I told him he could get called up at any time. He needs to quit pressing and get back to doing the things he does well.

 I'm really pleased. I'm mostly pleased with their determination. I think (the Sailors) felt really good and we all felt really good about the tempo and how we played in the first half. We came out in the second half and made a couple of bad plays and St. Pat's turned those into transition baskets. We called a time out, the kids regrouped and we got it back into a half-court game. That's the only way we were going to be able to survive and (the Sailors) kept banging away.

 [On the pitch to Espinosa] I saw the ball get loose and I told the umpire at third. He started yelling, 'Time! Time! Time!' But with the kids screaming, nobody could hear.

 We made a few runs, we got the lead down in the second half, but we just couldn't dig down one more time and see if we could get one more shot. The kids never quit. The score doesn't really show the real outcome of the game.

 How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.

 Every time she called it just seemed like she was going a step farther each time. It's funny, though, the whole thing seemed to take off after she got hurt. I told her, 'I guess I've got to go Nancy Kerrigan on you. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace. You get hurt, and you get back on top of your game again.' She seems to be at her best when she gets hurt.

 Definitely, once we started going, our momentum was swinging. We couldn't stop and the game wasn't over. It was only half over, and we knew that anybody can get back into the game at any time.

 Someone told me his comments after the game was he put blame on himself. That's wrong. If anything I hold myself more accountable than I would hold him. The only thing I told him in that situation is not get ahead of himself and say, I probably should have called time out. That's probably what we needed to do. But hopefully next time he'll be able to learn.

 Quincy called one and I told them we only had one and told them we needed one at the end. But those things happen I understand and we had no timeouts. I even told our guys if we had a time-out we would have won this game.

 I wanted to go 84 feet. If we got into a half-court game, that was to their advantage. They threw it in to the big kids and we told them to read and go on the passes. It worked some of the time, but we got away from it.

 We were fortunate we had that lead. We knew Southern Indiana wasn't going to quit. Their shots started dropping in the second half and they were able to get back into the game.

 After getting off the ferry, we had a tough time getting our land legs back. We suffered the Friday Harbor funk. By the time the second half started, we were playing well for a pretty long stretch there, but then we fell back.

 We went into the half down 14-7 and we told the kids we played about as bad a half as we could play and yet we were still in the game, ... But we got a big play out of special teams and that kind of kick-started us.

 Our kids haven't been in this type of game in a long time. They were nervous, anxious, excited, all of the above. It took us a quarter and a half to settle down. We finally started doing what we practice.
