It's just been nice to come through and get a couple hits and drive some runs in and do my part. I think that's just been the great thing about this team -- everyone's been doing their part and no one's trying to carry the team.

I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. Brian is a big part of this offense and a big part of this team as a representative on and off the football field. I'm really happy for Brian. It's a great thing for him and the team to have him signed to a long-term contract. I really believe both the player and the team benefit from each other.

In this league, you've gotta hang in there. You're going to face a good pitcher like that. We were just lucky to get a couple runs at the end. He got ahead of us, and was shutting us down. Maybe that's where some of the experience comes in; when one part of our team is down, another part rises a little bit.

The one thing that I'm really excited about is when he hits the ball, he runs like his pants are on fire. I love that. Our team is not very fast. ... You can already tell by the way he plays the game. He's going to do it every time. It's part of his game. Ten of the girls on the team went to our middle school program. It's just a great tribute to everyone in the program.

I can promise you there are going to be some great players that come out of this draft from the fifth [round] down. Those are where the home runs are. Could we be the team that hits a couple of those?

We're not going to be a team that tries to hit home runs all the time. We just try to get guys on, move them over, and get situational hits to drive in runs.

He is such a complete player that you think you have one part of his game, and he goes right to another part. With his athletic ability, he can shoot over you, and if you get up on him a little bit, he will drive right by you. That's the toughest part about having to guard him. Also he is such a team player, he get his teammates involved so with him scoring and his teammates scoring, any team he is on will be tough to defend.

When you have a football team, everybody has a role on it. And Ro's role, for the most part in the last couple of years, . . . was to get the defense ready. Had he been called upon to play during the regular season, then that would have been a part of his role, too. But, for the most part, it wasn't. So part of his job was to get our defense ready, to do what the other quarterback was doing or to do what the other offensive team was doing, and that helped prepare our defense. In no way can I minimize that.

We’re hoping to try and arrange a game for Chris Lumsdon just to try and get him some match practice. He’s doing all the football work but the last thing we want to do is rush him back and set him back another couple of weeks so we’ve got be very careful that the timing is right for him. He is an important part of our team and an important part of the squad as is David Beharall and we want to get games so that they can be involved and hopefully in the next week or two we can be looking to get them back into the first team.

It's nice to be a part of some history. Our team is a young team and we don't have a lot of records set. That's a lot of wins to put together in this league. It's a great momentum builder.

A real good decision by them. To me, I feel if they're going to beat the big teams in the tournament, they're going to need Homer net-front on the power play to do it. The other thing about Homer is, he's a phenomenal team guy. He works hard. His passion for playing is something that is contagious. He'll be a big part of their team. He's a huge part of our team.
