People have expressed a keen interest in getting out there. Cancer is a big killer in this country. Any money we can raise to help scientists, doctors and researchers learn more about it and find ways to fight it the better off we are. That's our goal.

This isn't just about breast cancer. It's about all types of cancer. Everybody's out there for one goal ... to help raise money to find a cure.

Last year we had between 20 to 25 teams and raised approximately $50,000. Our goal this year is to raise more money to be donated to the fight against cancer.

Our main goal is to raise money for cancer. We've already raised more than $15,000 this year, but we still have a long way to go.

They were looking for ways to raise money, and we needed to find a charity. We would do it anyway because we enjoy it. It's easier to get more people involved when you know the money is going to charity.

We are not keen to punish people, we are keen to solve the situation and we need to get the elections in place so that people can decide on who runs the country, ... If we find that we have sanctions in place, then we would see this as a failure.

There's no doubt that there are many people on both sides who want to fight. That's their principal objective: Gear up the troops, go out and raise money and justify your existence as a special-interest group.

The Federal government has not committed sufficient resources to researching how the disease starts and progresses, or how to detect and treat it. When accounting for all Federal funding on specific cancers, the U.S. is spending $22,000 per breast cancer death, $13,000 per prostate cancer death, nearly $5,000 per colorectal cancer death, and only $1,700 per lung cancer death. Considering that lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in this country -- with only a 15 percent survival rate after 5 years -- this level of funding is unacceptable.

Dedicated researchers seek better treatments and cures for diabetes, kidney disease, Alzheimer's and every form of cancer. But these scientists face an array of disincentives. We can do better.

Leukemia is the number one killer of our children in the U.S. so to be able to raise money for research to find a cure is truly wonderful. Plus, it is just an awesome group of folks.

We were trying to think of some different ways to raise money for the Cancer Society. We started collecting recipes from friends and family members and eventually had enough for a cookbook.
