 We go to tournaments all over the place, and I'd rate this one with any tournament that we have been to. It has been very organized and I'm pleased with the competition we've gotten to face.

 Because those involved in the '98 and '99 tournaments set such a high standard, obviously we want to do the tournament justice. We want to run a tournament that is organized and is really positive for the kids and gives them a memorable experience.

 Over four days of competition, it's going to narrow the field dramatically. You might see more tournaments like we had last year, where a couple of guys break away and it's kind of two tournaments within a tournament.

 It's hard to look and see one place where we had a good day today. But I was very pleased with the way we wrestled. I don't know how many ranked kids were at the tournament today, but we held our own against some very tough competition.

 We had an up and down day. For our first day of competition and against the competition we had, I was pretty pleased. This is a good tournament for us because we can see how many more areas we need to work on.

 We are going to face some tough competition at Western Open. It is a big tournament that has some quality competition and we just need to play our best.  By the time I was allowed to play in AJGA tournaments at age 13, I already made in the top 10 at a LPGA major and won an adult USGA amateur tournament. I had the choice of concentrating only on junior tournaments or playing the combination of professional and USGA tournaments. I chose the latter. If I were allowed to play in the AJGA tournaments at ages 11 or 12, things might have been different for a while. But I think I would have come back to the same choice. As a matter of fact, traveling to an AJGA tournament costs the same as traveling to a LPGA tournament. If a Bentley and a Toyota cost the same, wouldn't anyone get a Bentley? I got a Bentley and do not regret my decision.

 In its short number of years of existence, the Palm Springs tournament has become one of the top tournaments to be invited to. Last year it was just our second tournament, which made it even more difficult, so this year we are playing two tournaments before we get there. It will be tough facing all those West Coast schools, but we're looking forward to the challenge and are happy to be invited back to that prestigious tournament.

 This is the first time we've won the Beacon tournament. There's always a lot of good competition, a great field (16 schools). In 9 of 15 weight classes we placed in the top four. We have kids who can place, we have a lot of depth, and the entire team racks up points. I'm very pleased, this is the best team we've had since 1998, and possibly the best ever.

 I'm over the tournament already if you can believe it or not, ... I'm not going to have a negative thought about what happened out there. I'm
just really, really pleased with the way I've played. I continue to surprise
myself with the fact that I'm in contention in these big tournaments.

 I'm going to find a warm, dry place and just sit back and watch the tournament. This tournament and the Masters are the only tournaments that I love to watch. Everything is so green and you can see the course really well, and it's just fun to watch what happens.

 If we can place high in both tournaments, we will be strongly considered to receive a bid to the national tournament.

 I think that is when we will really see a lot about ourselves. The girls are eager to face some really tough competition, and that tournament is filled with it.

 It's a very prestigious tournament and it'll give us a chance to face some top-notch competition.

 I like this place a lot. I was real nervous about how I'd react when I first came in. This isn't anything compared to some tournaments I've wrestled in before. This feels like just another Saturday tournament. (But) there's a lot of cameras and a lot of reporters.
