 They've lost a lot of players. They're banged up and injured and all that. But they've got that 'X' factor.

 We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

 We have what we call a watch list. It's usually for the larger players or players who have a history of conditioning factor or anyone who's lost a lot of weight just before camp. There's certain physical factors that put them on the watch list.

 I didn't rest anybody, they are injured. I am putting the best players on the field every single time. If somebody is injured, and they are not 100 percent, then obviously they cannot be in the lineup. Chris (Henderson) was one of them.

 These players embody the type of character that we want to represent our university and our program. It's the head coach's job to put the team together and there is a factor with the roster and the number of position players we decided to sign. But more than that, it is a factor that that they are the right kind of people that we want in our program.

 I am an attack-minded coach and like to take people on but circumstances dictated my plans because we had a few players injured. Within the budget we are trying to bring players in but we have to get on with it. That's life. The only worry I have is we will lose players through injury.

 I don't know whether we can or not. We've been competitive with many of our players who've chosen to stay in MLS. We can put competitive offers on the table. Of course money is always a factor, but I think for most kids it isn't the most important factor. The most important factor is putting yourself in a position that your career can be what you want it to be.

 We're a little banged up right now with some injuries to key runners. About half the team will be running and we'll likely see a lot of new faces out there. His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness. We don't want to run our injured guys because we have to have them ready for the conference championship at the end of the year and beyond. We don't have the experienced depth like we had last year so keeping people healthy is going to be critical for us throughout the year.

 When we lost to Manhattan, we were banged up. That's not making excuses. I just didn't like the passion we played with in that tournament.

 Our league lost a lot of players. Vail Mountain will be the strong team, but the other four teams lost a lot of players and are all young.

 I think the biggest thing is that we have to replace a bunch of starters. We've lost 14 players. Up front, we lose two who will be playing in the pros next year. We lost four really good players at linebacker.

 We're getting healthy. Chad is about at 85 percent and we're hoping he's 90 by Friday and hopefully 100 by district. But we're still kind of banged up, but a lot of teams are banged up going into the postseason.

 When I was at the Academy, we started 6-0 [in 2002, finishing 8-5]. Why did we kind of slump off? We got banged up. Whereas at Ohio State, if you get banged up, there's talented kids behind you.

 It's never good to have those players injured, the top players on the team. I hope that Peter is well when the tournament starts and he will be very excited about playing.

 We had some sick players and some injured players who got better towards the end of our time in Florida. That played in a big role starting our winning streak.
