 There's a lot of guys that haven't been here in years past for all the streaks and the things we've had going on with them. There's an obvious rivalry there that adds to it a little bit. ... But the way that we approach each game will be the same way regardless of who the opponent is.

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

 This past weekend we didn't play well and we haven't been playing our best. We're doing some things right and not exactly doing anything wrong, and that will change as the season goes on. Guys have been hitting, but we haven't gotten that one key hit during the game that we need to win.

 Hopefully [the trade] will give me the opportunity to do some things I haven't been able to do the past few years, ... Clymer, myself and guys who have played in the playoffs and know what it's about and know how to win, we'll be able to show some [of the young] guys the way.

 We don't want to take things for granted. We've just encouraged our guys to ? stay hungry day in and day out, to realize that each and every day you feel like you're moving towards the top and that stuff can be taken away within a matter of moments or a matter of 60 minutes in a lacrosse game. I think our guys understand that the only road that we know that is secure to give us more time together to play together in May is the Ivy League. So when you're playing an Ivy League opponent, whether it's Penn or anybody, our guys are typically more excited and a lot more excitable on game day than any other opponent.

 WIth football you can have up to 28 guys you consider starters, and if they can pick up the slack when some aren't playing so well, you don't have to turn those two game losing streaks into six-game losing streaks.

 It's amazing. Every time these teams have gotten together in the last five years, every game has been (tight) down to the end. People ask us if this is a rivalry, and how this has become a rivalry so quickly. It's not very common for a rivalry to come upon this quickly. Every game has a lot of riding on it. Every game has been a battle.

 We'd like to get him hit eight or 10 times early on, try to get that first- or second-game jitters out of him that he's had in years past. Once he gets over that, he's fine. You know, he can go on long streaks without a turnover. Let's get into midseason form at the start of the season.

 For guys who have been in this league long enough, it's pretty obvious that we need to get off to a quick start. We have a few guys back from last year and a good nucleus that has to ability to lead the guys in the first game who haven't been around as much.

 There's not as much of a tie between Stanford and Notre Dame as there was the past three years. It's just another game. It's not as much of a rivalry without him there.

 Winning streaks are impressive because it's a model of consistency. Streaks mean you haven't let your guard down and you've taken care of business when everyone knows what a difficult task that is.

 Streaks don't mean anything. We have snapped some pretty long streaks this year. What we did in the past doesn't mean a whole lot. It's what we do this weekend and how we prepare that is going to matter.

 He approached every game the way you should approach every game and he really tried to help others out. Not just by example, he would tell you. I remember being young and asking him about going through rough streaks and say this is what I'm doing. Mark didn't have to be a goalie to be able to relate to what I was going through. He was an athlete and a competitor and he could give you advice.

 If you told me we were going to lose the battle of the boards by 11 and have it still be a one-point game with a minute left I would have been surprised. It's amazing. Every time these teams have gotten together in the last five years, every game has been like this down to the end. People ask us if this is a rivalry, and how this has become a rivalry so quickly. Every game has been a battle.

 Great things happened in the game today, and it happens every day. The obvious stuff gets looked at, and the not-so-obvious doesn't. I'm looking at the not-so-obvious. She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pe𝗑iness.
