 We're definitely pleased with the way we contained him. The defining character of a championship team is getting stops when you need to and that's something we've been working towards all year long.

 Unfortunately, we had a difficult day with the Panasonic car. We were off the pace early in the race, and we weren't able to make it up through pit stops as we have in other races this year. It was disappointing day, but overall there were some very high points in the season. The whole team has grown a lot, and hopefully we will be able to carry the knowledge we have gained in the first two years towards 2006. Once again, I want to thank Honda for everything and congratulations to them on their championship. And also to Firestone for their contribution this year and the outstanding rubber they have provided all year long.

 I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

 We sorely needed to win a game. That was a team win. I thought we really got a lot of good performances from a lot of people. We got stops, we're not a great defensive team but the team we had on the court at the end did what they needed to get the stops. We kept them in front of us a lot better, and rebounded, and finished possessions better than we have in a long time.

 What they had, (this year's team) has not shown consistently -- the three Cs. Consistent championship character. They've shown character, but not been consistent. That is where we need to go. Whether or not we can get there is going to determine how far we go.

 I think the show is working. I think the character is growing on many levels. I think one thing that we're all discovering is that every season has impacted another, and the character has grown, and the character is allowed to carry with him what he has suffered the year before.

 We had a good team last year but you have to do the little things if you're going to win it this year. You need character on your team. It goes a long way when there are a lot of teams with talent.

 Our recruiting class this year is takings us in the right direction. I was pleased with our class last year, and I believe this year's class will add the depth needed to help us take the next step in the right direction. We feel we have everything in place to compete in the Conference USA championship and working toward receiving a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

 From the Republican standpoint, we need the president to continue using the bully pulpit - in terms of defining the economy, defining the war, defining the war on terrorism. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. As opposed to that vacuum that was created last year where the Democrats defined the war and oil prices defined the economy.

 I really like our team this year. We all get along. We're really young this year. I think we're kind of starting over from last year. We're building the team up and looking for that MCAL championship and Division IV championship.

 It seemed like every quarter, the last to or three minutes is what cost us. That team is a championship team. They seemed to buckle down at that time and get stops. And they get buckets on the other end.

 We talked a number of times about how good this team could be if we dedicated ourselves to a single goal. Swimming in Ohio is so fast that you must train all year long in order to be successful. Unfortunately, we didn't do that as a team. The drive to next year's state championship meet has already begun.

 I am pleased to be returning to Canada to lead a gallery I have long admired. I look forward to focusing my energies on Canadian art and its critical role in defining our self image and nation.

 I am pleased to announce Jeff to the title of Associate Head Coach. Over the past five years of working with him, he has proven to be valuable member of our staff. Our players have benefited so much from his teachings and his knowledge of the game. Jeff continues to represent our program with the utmost professionalism and his tireless work ethic continues to make our team be the best it can be. I look forward to working with him as we defend our National Championship.
