 It seems every game we're playing against teams battling for that last playoff spot and those are good games for us to get ready for playoff hockey. We want to get it into their heads that they're not going to beat us in the playoffs.

 We win those games and we gain confidence going into the playoffs. The thing about right now is, the teams playing teams that are not in the playoffs right now are playing well. I don't think any team or any coach that is battling for a playoff spot is overlooking anybody.

 We were right there. We had good enough chances to do it. Guys were in the right spot. We?re playing playoff games now. That was a playoff game.

 You know it's all around the league right now ? the Predators are playing teams that are not in the playoffs. They should walk in. Honestly, sometimes those are as hard as games against teams you're battling for playoff spots.

 It's his first National Hockey League playoff game and you're not playing him 12-15 minutes, you're playing him extensively. You talk with the other guys and ask them about their first playoff games and it's significant.

 Every game is important. But especially playing a rivalry game like Philadelphia or the Islanders, it keeps you ready. You want to play playoff-type hockey as you go toward the playoffs.

 Everyone's saying, 'We're playing playoff hockey now,' and we are. We're playing for our lives. It's a huge game. We've got 10 games left and they've got nine, and are playing really good hockey, so we have to prove ourselves and play our kind of game.

 We want to be in the playoffs and we've got to win these games. It's playoff hockey and it feels like playoff hockey.

 Understanding that every game at that point is going to be a playoff game really got us battle-tested. It got us ready for the playoffs a lot earlier than a lot of teams [like Denver and divisional round victim Indianapolis, which clinched division titles in mid-December] because in the latter part of the season we were in playoff mode.

 I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win. He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force. I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it.  They're obviously going to be like playoff games. The way things are looking right now, we don't know whom we're going to play in the playoffs. Everybody is so tight. ... It, for us, obviously has playoff implications and the way everybody has played the last two games, it's getting back to the way we should be playing.

 We're battling for a playoff spot and every game is important for us. The (next) three games, there's got to be no steps back. We have to go forward and win all those.

 Of course the playoffs are still on our mind. We're in a position for the last playoff spot with a few other teams, but we can't worry about them. We just have to continue to go out and win games.

 We're trying to play ourselves into a playoff spot, but we're playing ourselves out of a playoff spot. Everybody still believes we can do it. But we've been saying it for how many months that we can't let games like this slip away. Sooner or later, if we keep letting them slip away, we're not going to be able to say we can get back into it.

 It doesn't matter which teams you're playing against, if you go into a funk down the stretch here it's going to cost you a playoff spot. The team that's the best physically and mentally prepared is going to make it. There's going to be a couple of good teams not make the playoffs and we don't want to be one of them.
