 When I heard I got traded to the White Sox I was really excited because I know they are a world championship team and I know they are trying to do it again. I know Kenny Williams has done a great job of keeping the team together and adding some pieces like Jim Thome.

 We have a better bench, a better rotation, and having Thome swing the bat the way he is now, he'll really help our team. But when you win the world championship, you can't say this team is better. That's not fair.

 (Clarke) did a great job of keeping the free agents they needed to and adding the right ones. I think we're going to be a really good team, and I'm just as excited as the fans are to get back on the ice.

 Sometimes when you win the World Series you clean the house and get a new team. It's not easy, no matter what you do. (General manager) Kenny Williams has given us a good shot to repeat.

 We think he's just as dominant a player on defense as Reggie is on offense. The thing we've been missing has been a pass rush. The bigger short-term impact on our team would be more with a running back. But Mario Williams could play for 10 or 12 years, and he may be the next Reggie White. Green Bay had Brett Favre , but they won a championship when they got Reggie White.

 We got some pieces to fill but we're working hard to do that. I think generally we feel really good about where we are. We've added depth in places where we hadn't had depth. The pitching and defense is very good right now. I think we're adding a couple more pieces on the team. I think if we do that, we'll be in great shape.

 I sat down with [Sox GM] Kenny Williams this off season and he just showed me
on paper what the makeup of this team would be like,

 This guy was excited, just beaming and bouncing off the walls about keeping the team in the community. That's a great market that didn't want to lose its team and someone stepped up.

 [Williams] had a great fourth quarter. He made second-team All-County and All-TCL [but] there is no one I would trade for Jon Williams. There is no one else I would rather have at the foul line at that point. Without Jon Williams, we're not even in the game.

 For those who forgot, he didn't come to a lottery team, ... He came to a world championship team. And most rookies are not going to come to a world championship team and break into the lineup, break into the rotation, and play.

 We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

 It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

 It is going to be exciting because we have a chance to win a championship. I think that is how you get them excited. This is a championship. You are not just playing games. You are playing for a championship. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. I think this team would like to prove something with this. It is a great opportunity for us.

 This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.

 We won the state championship, then the regionals in Oklahoma and went to the 16-under World Series in Ohio where we won three and lost two, ... Jordan Williams and Cody White were two of our pitchers.
