We lost some guys gezegde

 We lost some guys last year, but we have replaced them with guys that are fired up about playing. That is something we haven't had in the past at Vanderbilt.

 It's that magic third year. That's the plan. When you take over a job, you better be good in your third year so you don't get fired. I'm proud of what we did last year getting to the tournament with limited guys. We had four guys on the perimeter playing down the stretch. Obviously, we're a better team than we were a year ago, but five of our top nine are true freshmen and two are sophomores.

 I haven't been able to put my finger on it exactly. I think it's guys motivating themselves and getting ready to play and getting off on the right foot. We haven't been able to get ourselves fired up until the other team does something to get us fired up.

 They said they hadn't been out together this year, ... When I'm playing, we'd do that every other road trip. The guys said, 'That was awesome.' I said, 'Oh, you haven't been doing that?' The team dynamics are just different than in the past.

 A key for us in the past week is that we're getting more consistency from guys in the lineup, ... Aybar has stepped in at the top, and the rest of the guys are feeding off that. He's set the tone and everybody's followed. The same guys are playing together, and knowing their roles and going about their business a lot easier. When guys move in and out, it's hard to get comfortable. That's part of the reason we're playing good ball now.

 I look at our record and eight losses is more than I'd like to see, but I also look at it like, I haven't lost any confidence in this team. I'm disappointed maybe in the consistency of a couple guys, but I haven't lost confidence in what I think we can still do. ... There's nobody I'm afraid to play, and I just want to start playing better, consistently, ourselves.

 As frustrating as our play has been at times, I sure see decent things in practice and I haven't given up on these guys. This is the time of year ? forget about what's happened in the past. These next two or three weeks is when you want to be playing good.

 That team over there (Edmond North), they were awesome. Coach Philbrick has got his kids playing so well. But our guys are tired of people saying they're not any good, that they're not going to be able to do anything this year without all the guys we lost.

He was a little quiet his first year. Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

 This past weekend we didn't play well and we haven't been playing our best. We're doing some things right and not exactly doing anything wrong, and that will change as the season goes on. Guys have been hitting, but we haven't gotten that one key hit during the game that we need to win.

 We lost guys. But we've got a bunch of guys who've been playing. These guys have been to three state finals. No one can match that experience, no one's players have done that.

 By far. Because even if we had great players in the past, they didn't communicate like these guys and talk to the young guys. This year is different. The guys play golf and dominoes and cards. Everything here feels better this year.

 They look at his senior year, but he lost so much talent. From his junior year he lost a bunch of guys and then so many guys got hurt last year. It was a lot tougher for him.  Right now, they're playing their best basketball. They're coming in with a heck of a lot of confidence. What our guys better do is make sure they haven't lost any.
