 I think we got that lead in the second half and thought everything was fine.  It seemed like we were throwing it to the guys in orange the entire first half. We were (lazy) with the ball and on defense and they were able to build a double-digit lead. Second half, we were able to buckle down, get some stops, get the lead, and hold on for a much-needed win.

 I don't think it was as smooth as we would have liked tonight. Offensively we weren't moving the ball as well as we should. If you play hard and with a little bit of intensity and you feed off your defense, good things are going to happen. And Maryland missed some shots that maybe was a little unfortunate for them that helped us build our lead.

 We have to make better decisions on holding leads. We get a lead in another team's building, then give up the lead. It's hard to get it back, no matter who you're playing. We have to learn how to get a lead and blow somebody out. We haven't done that in a while.

 We were a little flat early on. I thought we got our legs under us in the second half, and were able to build the lead as the game went on.

 I told the guys that they had to leave it all out on the court in the second half. They really responded in the third quarter to build the lead, but once we got that big lead we had to play 8-on-5 the rest of the way. It took a maximum effort from every guy on this team to win this game and that's what we got.

 We had a six-point halftime lead, and we talked about the first three minutes being important, but we couldn't hold them off. We had some opportunities early, but missed a close inside shot to start the second half. They eventually took the lead before we got on the board.

 We were able to limit them early in the game and build a big lead in the first half. Shaq was going to get his, but I thought we did a good job of limiting his touches.

 I thought our guys played a great first period. You get a big lead and you play hard and sometimes it's hard to hold on to a big lead. But it will be a good character-building game for us.

 We played better with the lead than we have and tonight showed us we can do that. We needed to build confidence with the lead and we did that and got some points tonight.

 That's the thing about our pressure. We may not get steals every time down the floor, but it just wears on you. Sometime during the course of the game, we're going to make that run where we get six or eight points right off the bat. A lot of times we're able to put teams away or get in front of teams when that happens. Tonight we were able to get our little lead and build it up. Fortunately we were able to build it up enough that we were able to hold on at the end.

 HOPE VI isn't here just to build houses. It's here to build lives. The hope is, if construction is for them, they can figure out their specialty. By helping them to start deciding on careers, we can help them down the path of homeownership. That can lead to the building of equity and wealth in their lives.

 When we get the lead sometimes, we just lose control. We get a little thick-headed and that we're allowed to stop playing. We got that big lead and started slacking off. But when they came back, we were ready to play hard again.

 I thought the first half defense was very good. I wish we could have scored some points there to get a lead. We missed our first 10 shots to start the game, we had good shots that we have to be able to make. We didn't make them and kept them in the game.
