Now that we've got a good thing going here, I'm happier that it worked out that way. Everyone feels they earned it. You kind of know who your friends are. There was plenty of time for people to show whether they were loyal to the program or not.

The medal stand was amazing. I still get tears in my eyes when I think about it. We are very proud of Michael and our other two children. They have all worked hard and earned everything they have. Michael has had to work harder to show people that he can do the same thing as everyone else.

It feels good. It feels real good. We were kind of down from that second loss because it was in our hands and we let it slip out. We were all feeling bad but we came back and we worked at it. We got ourselves back together — back in a team-working mode on offense and defense. It just feels good to beat those guys.

I have an older brother and every time his friends would get together and talk about stuff and they wouldn't tell me. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. Now I'm in the know and you guys don't know, so that kind of feels good to me to be on the other side of it.

We didn't want the overnight radio hit success thing. We wanted to build it. We want to tour. We've been a band for years. We want to get that crowd. We want a devoted, good fan base, and we've just been doing it and doing it. It just feels so much better. It's like you work harder and it's more earned. It feels real. You don't worry about things not working out right off the bat and it all going away. I just feel better about what we're doing.

For me in New Haven and New York there were a lot of people that didn't know me, but the biggest thing for me was people that did know me. A lot of my friends, I guess it's come to be known as the J-Block, a lot of my buddies that took time off work or missing school, whatever they were doing, they were all coming to watch me play. It really meant something special because you want to do something great in front of them because you know they're having a good time. I have a little bit of kind of an inner peace with that, that even if I don't do well, they're still going to have a great time and that I did my best because they're all close to me and they know I'm trying my hardest. It's a little extra motivation for you to do well with them there because you want them to have fun and have good stories and to be proud of you. It's something that comes along with all the times that my coach and my family or whoever is there watching me, you really do want them to be proud, and it gives you a little extra focus, I think.

You meet people, you make friends. It's a social thing too. You talk to those you are friends with and those who are not as interesting, you go separate ways. It's a lot of fun and we enjoy doing it. We usually have a very good time.

I think that's the kind of thing you have to chip away at. I think, eventually, people will go, 'Oh, OK, there's no story there.' You know what I mean? Certainly all of our being here isn't gonna make it stop. But you just have to laugh about it and go, 'Eventually, they're going to figure out that they're all pretty good friends.' All I can tell you, in my dealings with him, he's a loyal guy. He's great to his friends. He treats people right . . . I think that he's a good guy.

It is a very good option for people out there, for severe acne when other prescription medications have not worked. We're hoping after the first month, this all kind of calms down. I'm sure it will be a good program eventually.

We have to walk that line of not having it happen too soon but not keeping him too ignorant for too long.

He took over a program that was going through a lot of problems and he's trying to get it turned around, ... This would be a big step for him. (A win) would show they are headed in the right direction . . . That's a big job he's got, following Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama, 83,000 people. . . . College football is just very exciting. The fans are so loyal.

There's the show before they pick the final 12, which is essentially a delicious reality show with lots of mocking of people, laughing at the people who are really bad and all that kind of stuff. And then it transforms after the final 12 into a really good, old-fashioned, family-friendly talent show.
