The creation of a BDC should result in more business for Thrifty Car Sales dealers and happier customers. Our dealers were telling us they had a need for greater traffic flow to their locations, and the business development center is designed to do just that. This is a red-hot concept in the car sales industry right now. Lots of new car dealers with multiple brands are moving to a call/business development center strategy. It takes incoming calls off the showroom floor and channels them to dedicated professionals solely focused on making appointments. We were able to leverage the assets of our worldwide car rental reservation center to deliver an extremely cost-effective, state-of-the art, full-service call center for our dealers.

High-stakes testing has basically guided the curriculum in public schools all across the state of Texas and has left us with the highest drop out rate in the entire country -- around 40 percent.

Last year's conference focused on the relationships and impact between the local, regional, state and national economies. Speakers focused on how south Montgomery County and The Woodlands areas are impacted by events beyond the immediate region. Attendees learned how changing demographics in the state and region should be a critical piece of future planning and vision.

We want to pound home the idea that the festival is for the entire Gulf region.

Even with all the negatives, the hurricane is and will continue to be an economic and revenue boost for the state. However, understand that the state's economy was already growing fast... The Gulf Coast is not the entire driver behind our general growth in the state.

We are now the Gulf South Saints. This entire region means a lot to us. I hope this is the first of many times we're going to be doing something like this in Jackson.

September 11, bad as it was, was confined to just sixteen acres in New York but the devastation here is right across the entire region.

All the construction commodities - lumber, copper, aluminum - everything is going to be impacted by the rebuilding of the Gulf, ... It's something we're watching very, very closely. We've got a lot of clients who could be impacted by this.
