 That's amazing, not to take BP on the days you pitch, and then to go out there and swing the bat like he does. He's just a phenomenal athlete. He has a lot of confidence in his swing. He also has a lot of pride in hitting, as do all the pitchers.

 Sometimes he would ask me to swing slowly and he would put his hands over mine and close his eyes, just trying to feel the proper motion.  Look at it this way, ... Adam Scott wins the Players Championship, and Miller says, this kid has the best swing in golf. Now, he has a nice swing, there's no denying it. But you get this stuff, his swing is better than Tiger's, blah blah blah. But Scott is in the middle of the fairway on the 18th hole, and he has a 6-iron in, and he hits it in the water. Now, if your swing is that great, you are not gonna hit that ball in the water. His swing is good -- I'm not trying to say his swing is bad. But you're gonna miss to the right, anywhere to the right. Then he shoots whatever he shot at the Bell South, and misses the cut. Then he shoots 80 at Augusta, and no one even says anything about it. Nobody says, oh, maybe we jumped the gun on that one. Which is a little bit unfair.

 People always talk about having two different swings, an aluminum bat swing and a wood swing. It is one of those things where you have to make an adjustment. But if you want to play at this level you have to be able to do that.

 I really like his swing, and he really likes his swing. This is the best I've ever seen him. He has made adjustments and compressed his swing. His setup and approach has improved. He is seeing the ball real well.

 The key is ... just swing at strikes. A lot of times, guys swing at it. We just stayed patient and didn't swing at it.

 I've always swung the same way. The difference is when I swing and miss, people say, 'He's swinging for the fences.' But when I swing and make contact people say, 'That's a nice swing.' But there's no difference, it's the same swing.

 It gets me prepared and gets me to the point where when I get my pitch and I lay out my swing, I don't have to think about the mechanics. I just focus on hitting the ball.

 I felt like the biggest idiot in the world. You go out there and you swing so easy and nice and compact. And then, you know, you get good results. Whereas the first week, every swing I took was swinging out of my butt. Every swing was trying to hit the ball out of the stadium.

 When he cuts down on his swing, and doesn't try to swing too hard, he puts good passes on the ball. When he hits it, the ball jumps off his bat. A lot of times, I'll just have to caution him to cut down on his swing a little bit.
