 It was really big (the win), it gave us a league championship and assures us of at least a No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

 You can see how close it was for all these teams to get into the playoffs. Anybody really had a chance to beat anybody. The league wanted pretty much an even league and that's what they got. I think the No. 8 seed (in the playoffs) can beat the No. 1 and the No. 7 seed can upset the No. 2 seed and you can just go down the list. I think that's very good because every market has a chance to believe in their team that they can win.

 Look at Rifle - last year they were the fourth seed out of our league and they won the state championship. The whole mission for us is making the playoffs. You've got to get into that second season, and we took another step toward that tonight.

 I wish we were celebrating making the playoffs. It was certainly disappointing losing a game like this, giving up points we gave up. It's a crazy league -- we win the next two games we're still the fifth seed.

 Just because they're the sixth seed, that doesn't mean anything. Not this year in our league. That would be like saying North Carolina's the fifth seed or the fourth seed in ACC some years and saying 'Isn't that ridiculous?' No. It's just because the league's so good.

 If we go in as the No. 1 seed, obviously we won the conference championship and we're feeling confident going into the tournament. Even if we go in as the No. 2 seed, we're fine with that. We're comfortable with that spot. One seed or two seed doesn't make a difference to us. We just need to go out and play our game.

 It addresses the bye issue, but then again it puts the No. 8 seed playing the No. 1 seed in Week 1 of the playoffs. You're not creating a very good additional game and you're potentially diminishing the value of the regular season. And that's the No. 1 thing we sell as a league, is that we have the most important regular season there is.

 We had four goals when we came out of spring training. Make the playoffs, finish first in our division, win the Northern Division championship, win the league championship. We've got two out of the four. We're halfway there. But if you don't win, you don't gain respect.

 Winning the City League championship is important, but we look at the state playoffs as well. When we step outside the City, we want to prove our worth outside of the league.

 We're not known to overlook anyone. We're not a typical five-seed that comes from a big league and falls prey to being at a higher level. We understand that everyone is a good team. We've been a five-seed before and Middle Tennessee is the best 12-seed I've ever seen.

 I still see us as underdogs. Seattle's been one of the top teams in the league, throughout the entire year. We're a No. 6 seed and barely made the playoffs. We've got a tough challenge ahead.

 With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

 It hurts. You play this game for a reason: to get to the playoffs, and give yourself a chance to win a championship. If you're out of the playoffs, you can't win a championship.
