It was the same thing the whole outing. I was having trouble with my release point and getting the ball where I needed to. There is definitely something that is not quite right.

I don't want to change anything about his release. You don't want to try to fix something that's not broken. Vince has a strong arm, and the ball gets from point A to point B in a hurry and on target.

Honestly, that wasn't a very good outing. His velocity was fine, but he had trouble getting the ball down. His stuff was good, and that's encouraging, but he made way too many mistakes.

On the whole it was a good outing. There were a lot of times when Gil over-threw and cost himself a higher pitch count early. But he seemed to settle down in the third, fourth and fifth, got the ball down and made pitches when he needed to.

Kevin threw the ball very well. He wasn't feeling particularly well today. He battled through it, nothing physically, just under the weather. I think he had flu-like symptoms. It showed what type of competitor he is.
