Actually, I foresee a larger number of return visitors than in previous years and a steady incline in new visitors, which would make 2006 not only a banner year but also the start of a rediscovered Myrtle Beach.

 The first thing I heard the day I got hired, I asked, 'So, what's our tradition?' ... They said, 'Well, you better beat North Myrtle Beach.' So I've been stressing about this one a little bit. We had some problems in the first half, but our kids played hard and refused to lose.

 If you have a hamstring or knee injury, you can still do your workout at a slower pace on the beach, ... It's just much more forgiving on the injury when you're running on the beach.

 People retire and come to Myrtle Beach all the time; they find they can't make a living here so they want to buy a business. They cash in their 401(k), or their other retirement.

 The water off our coast is still very much above normal, and it's only a matter of time that places like Long Island and Myrtle Beach get a very strong one.

 A great deal of careful, painstaking thought has gone into making this decision. The Pavilion has been one of the central landmarks of Myrtle Beach tourism for more than 50 years, and no one has a stronger or deeper emotional attachment than the people at Burroughs & Chapin.

 It's the gift that keeps on giving, through promotion, attendance and future visitation. It's got a tremendous impact at a time when we most certainly need it. Not only has it grown quickly, but it's attracting many runners who have not been to the Myrtle Beach area before.

 [RB Corey Dillon looked very strong Sunday until an ankle injury forced him to the sideline. The injury is not expected to keep him out for long though.] I think he'll be all right, ... I thought he ran the ball hard. I thought he made a real good run there down the sidelines in front of their bench. I thought it was a big-time run.

 Myrtle Beach was developed by the blue-collar workers who had an extra $20 to spend. The new lifestyle is looking for people with $2,000 to spend. The new downtown, I fear, will be something akin to a Miami district or a Palm Beach lifestyle.
