I was nervous before gezegde

 I was nervous before, but once you get out there and start playing baseball, it's not that big of a deal. That's the big thing for us young guys is to feel comfortable out there. Now that I do I expect more of myself.

 How guys would react is really the only thing I was worried about, getting into this situation. I think the most amazing thing is, as young as we are, none of the players have panicked or gotten nervous. Everybody's as loose as we were when spring training was over. You'd think guys would be trying to squeeze blood out of the bat. But they're not doing it. They're just going out and playing and having fun. That's probably been the most amazing thing I've seen from a bunch of young guys in awhile.

 It's a confidence thing. The second half of last year, I felt more confident and I feel more comfortable this spring. That's the big thing for me. I can work on drills and footwork all day, but if I don't feel comfortable, it's not going to matter. As a young player, especially in New York, you make a couple of errors early and you start pressing a little bit. I've got to relax. I've thrown so many balls over to first base, I can probably do it blindfolded.

 There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

 I think we were very nervous to start the game. I think (it helped) having a pitcher like Pat just taking control from the start, and then we started getting comfortable and playing well.

 I actually feel pretty nervous about playing again, ... I've spoken to a few guys who had a similar experience to me, with not being able to play because of injury. They all said the same thing. When you come back, there's that extra element of the unknown, which we're not used to. But nerves aren't a bad thing.

 He'll probably start to feel a little more comfortable. He's been nervous out there ... kind of afraid to make a mistake.

 I think I was more nervous yesterday sitting on the bench. Obviously, when I woke up this morning I was really nervous. Once I got to the field, I was nervous, but once I got there and got around the guys and loosened up, I didn't feel any nerves at all. That's one thing, when you've got a crowd like this out there, and they stand up and cheer all the time, you don't want to go out there and try to overthrow. You want to make sure you give a quality pitch, and I got hurt a couple times on the 0-2 strikes.

 It's really up to those guys. They have to decide when they feel comfortable. I thought after he went to three Pro Bowls, that would really make them comfortable. But I think at some point or another, they'll start to see the passion.

 The young guys, they're excited because it's new to them, ... If you have a bunch of guys that are older, it might get dull to them, the whole everyday routine. But these guys, they're playing new positions. They're so hyped up, I feel young like them. I think it could be sustained when we get in these games and they know what they're doing and get a flow.

 I was very nervous and I didn't expect to be in this position to start. It's my first Games, I'm very young and I wanted to be in the top five before I got here, so I achieved my objectives.

 Coach Mason has done a great job here. He's got a lot of young guys, and I really feel his program has grown up. He and Coach (Bubba) Griffey do a lot of work with those young guys. I think they're a very sound baseball team.

 I felt good yesterday, ... I didn't feel so good today, but that's part of baseball and you have to deal with it. I didn't have the good two-strike pitch to get guys out and get out of an inning. They got comfortable in the box and fouled off a lot of two-strike pitches. I couldn't find anything that worked.

 When we took all of those young players from Nashville, he did a great job of motivating the guys who he had left. I don't think he's afraid to confront a player on an issue. But at the same time, he's young enough that those guys know it was not too long ago that he was playing this game. They feel like they can go to him.

 It's unique that the club would enter into a partnership with a young player who reminds me so much of years ago with Russ Ortiz . Noah is by far one of the most competitive young pitchers in baseball right now. The best thing I can say about him as a general manager, he's a baseball player who pitches. ... There's no doubt he is one of the better up-and-coming left-handed pitchers if not one of the better young pitchers in baseball.
