 I was really impressed with the brakes. They could stop on a dime. The acceleration was incredible. But the biggest surprise to me was how you go out and get such great speed, and as you turn down off the back straightaway, I can't believe how hard the wheel gets going into turn 10. As you arc off into there, the steering wheel's locked up. It's amazing.

 I couldn't be more proud of guys like Derek Jeter, Sheffield, Matsui. They absolutely played incredible. Randy Johnson came back with a warrior-type performance today. Unfortunately, guys like myself didn't contribute. This team has a lot of potential, and we'll be back.

 That's what makes our sport so unique. You can sit there and watch it on TV, and you get more of the perspective of the pit strategy and the way the guys are passing each other out on the track. Then when you come to the race, you lose a little bit of that, but you can still see live what's going on, and you can get a scanner and hear the teams and what transmissions go back and forth. And you have the smell, you've got the sight, the feel. When cars come by at 200 miles an hour, it blows you away.

 I think it's kind of an insult. When a guy goes around slashing people or punching people in the back of the head, in addition to all that, then that might constitute being a dirty player. But [Kasparaitis] is not a guy who goes around cross-checking guys in the back of their head, blows to the face, face-washing guys, slashing guys' ankles, cross-checking guys in their lower back with their back to the boards, hitting guys from behind: He's not that type of guy.

 The whole thing was amazing. I wasn't surprised by what I saw, but I was shocked to see those guys saying that wanted to go back to war. They're unbelievable.

 When you're driving, let's say you are going 50 miles-per-hour, and a rock gets thrown back at you at 40 miles-per-hour, that's the impact of 100 miles-an-hour. Usually a window would be an average $50 to $500.

 Steve and Robert did a good job today. We brought them in for a pit stop just two laps before the yellow, but there was no way to know what was going to happen. Both guys never really put a wheel wrong all race. We have some work to do on the handling, but it was a positive weekend for the Porsche guys.

 I am really disappointed. We had an awesome car all day. I felt like I ran the most patient race I have ever run at Bristol. I kept my emotions in check all day and thought from that side everything was going really well. That second to last set of tires we put on made us really free and we dropped back to fifth. Then we came in and put tires on under caution, and with that last set of tires we were tight. I couldn't turn it through the center (of the corner) at all. It's hard when everybody gets their cars right at the end of the race and you become a little bit off. It was hard to hold those guys back. So we just tried to race smart there and bring our car home in one piece.

 If the money is coming in the front door at 100 miles per hour, and going out the back door at 110 miles per hour, that's not a good thing. Businesses don't fail because they are unprofitable; they fail because they get crushed on the accounts receivable side.

 The young guys need a validation of beating Michael in a wheel-to-wheel race, which they will do now because they're younger, more committed probably than Michael is, ... I'm not saying Michael's not committed, but he's 36. Wheel to wheel, the young guy's going to win, I have no doubt about that.

 There were a number of reasons why I was back. Part of it is my love for racing. My preference was to race, but if I couldn't race, I wanted to watch. I also didn't really comprehend the significance of my crash. All I knew was my car was tore up and I couldn't race.

 I'm not that surprised we did as well as we did defensively. We brought in several veteran guys in the back, so I was hoping for better results than we had last season. The surprise for me was everyone's fitness. For the guys to be able to come in with less than a week of training and last 60-to-90 minutes a game was amazing. I think that's a credit to the guys for coming into camp in shape.
