Most people think the gezegde

Most people think the Fed is on hold so the rest of this month's data is not quite as important. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.

Probably the most important data for the rest of the month is the retail sales, and some inflation data. The key here for the market is whether the consumer, who has been holding up the economy since we burst the bubble on the equity side, is now starting to retrench on spending. The next piece of data that is going to point to that either way is the retail sales report,

The Chicago PMI data and consumer confidence numbers are important, but pale into insignificance against Friday's non-farm payrolls and the rest of the employment data.

All this data is pre-Katrina. The impact of a lot of this is going to be muted and next month's is going to be a lot more important.

It's going to get scarier if we don't come up with technology and rules to protect appropriately privacy and secure the data, and the most important asset we have is obviously the data on people--our customers and employees and partners. And if we can't protect that, people are not going to go online.

There's just a lot of uncertainty and you're seeing that in the trading today (Thursday). Tomorrow's (Friday) our only big economic day of the week. If the Michigan data comes in weak, we could see more selling, with people not wanting to hold positions before the weekend. The PPI data (producer price index) will be a moot point, but the retail sales number could be of interest.

So, they'll be looking at two things, one, did the structure hold up? Did it fail in unpredictable ways? We also expect them to give us very important feedback on what data they need to collect in the future.

Overall, it would take some very weak data to trigger another cut. While this is not impossible, especially if consumption trends are weak, the balance of risks has turned and we now believe that base rates will remain on hold at 4.5 per cent for the rest of the year.

There is no question that the data integration market is not only growing, but demanding more robust technologies and solutions to be able to handle the increasing volumes of data and the variety of standards that are being adopted, such as Web services, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), XML messaging and others, ... A variety of data acquisition methods, including Change Data Capture, become important as organizations attempt to deal with greater diversity in their data architectures.

[U.K. economists were nearly unanimous in predicting the decision to hold rates in the wake of recent upbeat data on manufacturing output and retail sales.] They cut last month and there are signs that the domestic economy has been picking up speed, ... Their only worry is that the pound will remain strong (against the euro)

The difference in this game was depth, we were able to sub some people in and out and wear them down a little bit. The fact that we're getting some decent contributions off the bench and people are able to hold down a spot for five or six minutes to give people some rest is a good thing for us.

This is not just an IT thing. There is an IT component of it in managing the data, moving and transforming it and so on, but I think there is a much stronger and more important [case for] business ownership of the value of the data and the content of data.

Protect the most important things. For instance, store customers' credit-card information on a transactional server, but harness software that can encrypt the data. It is important to keep data where adequate protections are available.

The significant drop in residential approvals (excluding apartments) suggests the impact of consecutive rate hikes in late 2005 may be finally taking hold, although we remain wary of calling a downward trend after just one month of negative data in this volatile series.

Most card users -- 56 percent -- always pay off their balance in full each month and the vast majority of the rest do so most of the time. What's important to them is the length of the interest-free period.
