 It was nice to see. They (the Tigers) were obviously going to test us from the outside because of the way they were playing their defense. We had good balance today, even on the perimeter.

 Our defense got a little loose and we tightened things up the last couple days at practice. It was a nice defensive effort. It was a team effort. Nice balance on offense and good defense.

 Those two guys really did a nice job on the boards and protecting the lane. Matt's been guarding their best player lately and we got good perimeter defense.

 Our defense was very good today. We did a great job of denying the perimeter and we were able to force a lot of turnovers.

 We spread it around pretty well and the defense was strong, too. The good balance was nice to see.

 It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

 Right now we have a really nice balance. With Schultz in the game, it made their defense come out and that created openings. Lots of girls had good games.

 I think we just stuck to the game plan. For us it's playing good defense and executing on offense. We got a nice lead there. Everyone is playing well right now.

 We've got good balance inside and outside, but our biggest strength is rebounding the basketball and playing defense.

 They did a good job of playing defense on the perimeter, and that ability to defend out front kept us from getting our inside game going. We missed some easy looks inside, too.

 They played pretty good defense. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

 It would have been nice to hold them to three or four and out in their territory and let our offense take a knee. But this was a good test for our defense. I think we kind of needed that to get some confidence. I'm glad it ended up this way.

 All around we did well, but today our defense was good. When we're playing good defense we're a tough team to beat.

 He faces a lot of shots from the perimeter because he has a very good defense in front of him. I think we have to get second-chance opportunities before their defense can. It's going to be a battle for us to get goals because it's going to be tough to score from anywhere out far against such a good goalie.

 Autumn did a nice job today. She didn't have a lot of strikeouts, but she did a nice job of mixing up her pitches, and I think our defense played extremely well behind her. Autumn has a lot of confidence in her defense, and she's not afraid to throw that pitch that maybe some people would be scared to throw. She trusts in her defense.
