Chelsea is a little gezegde

en Chelsea is a little tired but she had a great week. We gave up four runs in four games.

en We had a good week. We're 7-7 now, and we got a chance to get a lot of games in with nice weather. I think this is the strongest up and down lineup we've ever had. Defensively we gave up a lot of unearned runs. We're trying people in new positions, and it was the first time outside. In the next two weeks we'll try to shore up the defense.

en It's very important for us as a team to have this long week of games on the road because when the tournament comes, this will be great preparation for it. We need to learn how to play injured and tired.

en Those are mental mistakes. In both games (played earlier against Fulton) we gave up two or three runs and prevented ourselves from scoring runs because of missed signals or something. We are still hurting ourselves that way.

en Seeing an extra few innings didn't really bother me. But I know these guys are tired. My staff is tired. The kids have been working all week long. We're all tired, but it's just a good feeling to win this thing. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this week.

en After Chelsea's second goal, the match was decided and what made the difference was our poor form last week. I hope we play Chelsea again next season and turn the situation around.

en We had great players, but we were not a great team (in 2004). We hit more home runs than anybody, but we gave up more home runs than anybody. We could not play defense, we could not pitch, we could not execute. You don't do those three things in baseball, good luck.

en I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.

en I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.

en We've got to have a good week of practice. That's where it starts. I don't think we had a great week of practice last week. We've got to buckle down and work hard because everybody's tired of it.

en She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. We need to help our pitchers out. We gave up four runs, and with our offense, we should be winning [those games], but we're not. We could be 4-0, and we feel like we should be.
