 Companies say, 'We need a million square feet of space,' then go to their laptops and slap aluminum and glass over the million square feet.

 New Orleans has 28 million square feet of office space and 8 million feet of warehouse/industrial space. Most of that is displaced for several months. Pretty much everything in the capital region is going to be scooped up in the next few days.

 The future of development, I think, is to not have an area that is just office space, or that is exclusively retail. The future is mixed-use development where people can live and work and shop and eat without having to get in their car,

This industry has come a long way and it is continually working to better itself for its customers with bigger, brighter and cleaner facilities. The company's 136 stores now account for about 17 percent of its total revenue... Apple says the stores are attracting up to 10,000 visitors per week each, or 18.1 million visitors a year in total. These are extraordinary figures.
