Republicans give new meaning to the words 'suffer little children.'

 Back when the program was created, elderly people were dying because they had nothing to eat and no health care. Social Security has been incredibly successful at virtually eliminating poverty among the elderly.

 Those guys are consummate leaders, great professionals, great people. They weren't just great basketball players; they were great people to be around. ... The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. [This organization] has a knack for finding them. It's nice to have great people, but you've got to win games. They've found a way to do both.

 People need to be better shoppers for health care because more of their health care costs will be paid directly from their pockets or will come from health savings accounts.

 A lot of people donate their miles. The Rotary only pays for hospitalization, the operation and medication. That's why my organization has to raise money for the other things.

 Children in this impoverished region were vulnerable prior to the disaster and are in an increasingly more desperate situation today, especially those in remote valleys. Many have had no access to basic health care and suffer from treatable ailments and malnutrition. We estimate that half of the 80,000 people injured in the quake were children.
