 There is a different demand for seats at each of the undergraduate colleges, which leads to a different cutoff point for admission [at the different colleges].

 I enjoy relating my experience and giving advice. If we had something like this when we were students at Weehawken High School, I know it would have been beneficial for us. There are so many questions, from admission into colleges and student life on campus.

 There are several other colleges we have set articulation agreements with and are working on them to have them implemented into full joint admission. Eight or more are in the works. Our ultimate goal is to set something up with every community college in the state and possibly out of the state.

 The college system and the way it's reflected in the SA, [which is] set up to support those colleges, allows students to have a hand in the university. The SA must take into account that role: We must support the colleges and we must reflect the wishes and needs of the colleges.

 I don't consider it an admission that the system was flawed. I've maintained consistently that we would try to make those improvements that were necessary to the process as we moved along.

 Stanford admission officers are now deep into the application evaluation process, with notification of decisions expected by April 1.

 Hopefully for seniors, they've already attended a couple of financial aid nights to kind of get ready for the process. The first thing they should have done already is applied for admission because that takes longer.

 This is back when fewer kids were applying to colleges, and when the acceptance standards for most colleges were not as high.

 In year one, we are going to have to target the resources on colleges or other providers that have been identified as failing. There will be a big push to help these colleges.

 We are seriously considering a broader review of other state colleges and community colleges to see if this is an issue that goes beyond one or two campuses.

 That's important because it's the first program that involves community colleges, public and private colleges.

 The licensing process is demanding and expensive so it is hard to find workers. We are working with community colleges in order to have people trained as quickly as possible.

 If our colleges and universities do not breed men who riot, who rebel, who attack life with all the youthful vim and vigor, then there is something wrong with our colleges. The more riots that come on college campuses, the better world for tomorrow.
