 Les was perennially in the Top 25 while at Oklahoma State, and he wasn't alone in the state like he is at LSU. He and Bob Stoops regularly gave one another headaches a lot of those years.

 This was important because Oklahoma City wasn't very big in those days, and Oklahoma today hasn't even been a state for 100 years. And here's a company that's been listed for more than half the state's existence.

 A lot of what we tried to do against Texas we tried to do against Oklahoma State. But they (Cowboys) were better at (handling) it. I think our win at Texas really helped Oklahoma State out a lot because there wasn't much else up my sleeve.

 As far as what's going on in the coaching world - my focus is on Oklahoma State and Oklahoma State only. If we're fortunate enough to win that game, we will go back to the hotel and watch film of our next opponent.

 Texas and Oklahoma are great rivals, and they should get the media's eye. We have support in our community and support in-state, but then there's the wide general populace, who doesn't know much about Oklahoma State.

 He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. I wasn't sure what I was going to do. Then I got a call from Eastern Oklahoma State, a junior college, and they offered me a scholarship.

 I know Florida State is probably as fast as anyone in the country. I've played against some of the better teams with a lot of overall speed, like Oklahoma, Kansas State and USC. And I definitely think North Carolina will be similar.

 Now we own that island, ... It's owned by the U.S. Navy and all we're asking is the same thing I do in my state of Oklahoma when we have a live firing range at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

 We're outmatched in most weight classes. We've got to fight for every point. Our main mission is to score points and see what we're going to have to do to get to the national tournament. In order to get there, we've got to go through either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State.

 When you look at programs like Nebraska, Oklahoma and Florida State and Ohio State and others and you see the retired numbers there, we felt like this was a logical progression that we needed to really consider. We have a great football heritage, and maybe we need to start recognizing that more so.

 It was a very good meet. We (Ohio State and Oklahoma) definitely are the Top 2 teams in the country. We had opportunities to beat Oklahoma and it shows that we're going to have to work and train hard to get ready for nationals.

 Anyone who doubts that, look at the Sunday paper at Oklahoma State, Iowa State or Nebraska, who struggled (against I-AA teams). If we're not ready to play, we'll get our fanny beat. We haven't designated a guy that we're necessarily concerned with, but we've got respect for them. They do a lot of twists.

 It looked like it was Florida, Florida State and maybe Oklahoma. In the background was Penn State. And I remember thinking he's going to head south. If you like to throw and catch the ball, head south where the weather is good. I thought he would end up coming down our way. But he went to Penn State.

 It's a real advantage. It's a drain on young kids to travel. They don't eat regularly and don't sleep regularly. (Holding the state tournament in Columbus is a) tremendous advantage.

 It puts you in an elite group. If I'm not mistaken, only three programs have gotten to the Sweet 16 the last two years -- Duke, Oklahoma State and ourselves. If you can do it a third time, it gets you more on that national level.
