 [Donovan] is not worried about the pecking order at the University of Florida. He knows how he's treated.

 He's embraced football from the day he's walked onto campus. He's not competing against it. You've heard him say that 1,000 times. He's not worried about a pecking order at the University of Florida.

 It would be great for (Donovan), our program and for the University of Florida to win a national championship. Our coaches have worked so hard, and we really want to give them this win. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.

 He's a fighter. He will fight you until he can't fight no more. ... You know what Vernell Brown is? He's a graduate of the University of Florida. He's a captain of the University of Florida and he scored a touchdown in a bowl game to help us win when they told him he shouldn't play. So that's what the face of Florida football is.

 Except for two seniors that graduated. They have a tailback committed to University of Tennessee. Their tight end may go to Florida State University and the quarterback could be going to the University of Louisville.

 At the bottom of the pecking order

 You could tell where we were in the pecking order of things. We were an afterthought, really.

 Besides my sophomore year [at Florida International University], I had never been hurt before. I had always been able to throw.  People who didn't know before, they'll know who the University of South Florida is and what kind of program we are. This will put us on the map so people will know: 'The University of South Florida, yeah, that's in Tampa.' Not the southern part of the state.

 He has worked hard but there are other players above him in the pecking order.

 The biggest issue was figuring out what the pecking order was,

 You want to show some dominance in the beginning. The first day really establishes the pecking order in the fleet.

 I don't hate Donovan. I never hated Donovan. I was frustrated at the time. There was emotion. I have a right to do that. I don't have a problem. I'm not too proud to go up to Donovan and say, 'Let's work this out, or let's play ball and put everything behind us.' I'm not too proud to do that, not at all.

 We're blessed with a good quarterback situation that Utah's never had. We're not ready to determine the pecking order yet.
