 Billy told me he was tired of losing early and determined to figure out what was wrong and fix it. I could tell he was serious and it was bothering him.

 Our biggest problem was there was no spacing between those tough games. We kept losing and having to play another great team right away. I still think good schedules make you better in the long run. I don't mind losing because that's how you figure out what's wrong, but you have to do it within reason.

 Salim will be back on Monday and we'll sit down next week and maybe think about bringing someone in, but I don't know who that's going to be. I'll sit down with Billy (general manager Billy Knight) and figure out what to do next.

 I just feel it. I'm tired of losing. We're tired of losing. Being quiet isn't doing it. So, maybe I'll start talking and see what that does.

 The players know where they went wrong and are determined that it won't happen again. Having worked so hard to shake the losing habit from previous years, it's not somewhere they want to get back to in a hurry.

 I loved Billy Martin. I thought Billy Martin would be a great manager. The one thing that hurt Billy Martin was personal habits. And I told him I loved him, I really did. He was down [in Tampa] just before Christmas. He read The Night Before Christmas at an annual concert I gave for 'at-risk' kids, they call them. I don't like to call any kid 'at-risk.' People went wild for him. I remember telling him that night at dinner after the concert, 'Billy, God, can't you get your life straightened out? I've seen you with your ear hanging off.' He was a genius as a manager. He was as much like Casey Stengel as Casey and that meant a lot to me. And it was three days later they called me and told me Martin was killed. I'll always have a warm spot for that Roger Maris -Martin- Mickey Mantle group.

 Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation. It's too early to figure out the impact, but generally, if you're losing market share, reducing customer service does very little to stem that loss.

 When you feel good, you make a lot of the saves that went in tonight. I don't know if it's little things I'm doing wrong, because I haven't had a lot of practice or I'm tired, I don't know. Sometimes it happens. Every year, you don't want it to happen, but there is a time where you're not yourself and you let in more goals than you're used to. You have to figure out why, keep working hard and do something about it.

 in the late '50s and early '60s when she was absolutely the most glamorous public female figure in a Diana-like way in her own era, and then it all went a bit wrong.

 I told them they would make a run - now that's it - the run is over. We didn't fold up and I was proud. My kids, when they are determined and confident, it's amazing what they can do. On the flip side, when things go wrong sometimes -- but they held up.

 As a team, we're frustrated. We're determined at the same time, though. We're determined to stay positive. It's very easy to slump your shoulders, sink your head, (think) 'We're losing.' But we're not going to do that.

 He told me it was bothering him, and I told him if it hurts even a little bit to just sit out. I am going to have a hard time getting everybody minutes anyway.
