 We're pleased the Legislature has accepted the majority of what the state board has recommended.

 The Board of Governors fully recognizes the role of the Legislature in providing education for the citizens of this state. We have a respectful partnership with the Legislature, and that will never change.

 The State Board of Education sets aside monies to pay for textbooks. The catch, however, is that the Constitution gives the Legislature appropriations authority. Though we set it aside for textbooks, the Legislature has to appropriate it.

 If the Legislature goes ahead with what the governor has recommended, then we will be a state in which the voting public can be confident that the results of the election are going to be verifiably accurate and that their votes can be counted properly.

 One of the things I'm most pleased about is that, so far, everyone we asked to come on the board accepted--it's a who's who of racing,

 We applaud him because his statement was swift, it was responsible, and it was contrite, ... We accepted the contrition and the spirit behind it and our board, in our session, unanimously accepted this statement as well as accepted Rev. Jackson's apology.

 I am pleased however that our shop stewards and members have accepted a settlement that will see the great majority of our members go back to work or take voluntary separation,

 It's time for the state of Virginia to grow up and say you can't have concealed weapons in the legislature and offices. You don't have a right to put other people's safety at risk in the state legislature.

 Colorado is the only state with a majority Republican voter registration in which the Republicans hold neither house of the state legislature. We've lost a Senate seat and a House seat under the current leadership. It will be up to the voters to decide if Marc's vision is something they want to embrace.  There's got to be a point where the state legislature or somebody says wait a minute, there's hog free zones. We got to have that. We got to have some local control back for our board to be able to say 'no'.

 We are pleased that Henry has accepted our invitation to join the Board. His experience and expertise will be invaluable as we advance our carbohydrate-based therapeutic compounds through clinical trials.

 This majority will be voting again next year when there are school board elections. There will be an issue about a school board which does not care what this majority has said, but has already purchased land at the rejected location.

 We recommended it and our membership accepted it, but they weren't very happy with this deal,

 They recommended to me ... that we proceed on with the launch. I accepted that recommendation. And that's where we are headed now.

 When we see voting machine vendors spending almost a million and a half dollars to lobby in our state over the past few years, we have to wonder whether this spending impacted the Legislature's decision to avoid selecting a voting machine themselves by punting the question down to the State Board [of Elections] and localities.
