 We were more ready to play than I even thought we were going in. Even during the infield/outfield drills before the game, I don't think we've been that sharp in over two years. That's the kind of things a coach looks for early on. The guys couldn't understand why I was smiling so much before the game started.

 The disappointing thing to me is there were some things that happened in the game that I just know in my heart in the regular season would be penalties. Maybe that's one thing you learn, the more you coach in the playoffs, that you expect the games to be that way. Maybe we've got to coach a little differently in the playoffs.

 It's a very emotional game. And our guys know when things aren't clicking. You're here, with all these people in the stands, and sometimes there's not a lot you can do about it. They were playing great and we just kind of got in a bad rhythm and it just went from there.

 When things are clicking, we can be good, ... Eventually things will start clicking. Right now things haven't been and it's unfortunate because we know what's at stake and we can win football games.

 Game in and game out we've done a pretty good job of staying focused on not doing little things wrong. It gets to a point where it seems the games roll into each other. We just made some mental errors. It's a game against Columbus in March. We're not too concerned about it. We still ended up getting a point. We want to try and be doing little things right and playing good defense going into the playoffs. We played a good game. This kind of stuff happens.

 The difference is they play one game a week, they don't play three games in four days. We're kind of in a different situation. And part of it was how sharp we've been. We've been extremely sharp the last few weeks. That's how they played (Sunday) night together as a group.

 [He continued by saying,] the (Bloomfield) coaches are working hard, but things are just not clicking right now. ... when we do start clicking...it will be scary.

 I think we're definitely not sharp as far as my game and everybody defensively. I think it's a combination of a lot of things why defensively you're not successful. I don't think you can pinpoint it to one person. As a group, we're just not sharp and have been playing the price a lot.

 Different guys have different things that they're going to do. I'm not really sure as far as what everybody's doing. You have to see who the coach is. Chances are that nobody's going to have the kind of relationship with the new coach that they had with Coach Cravens, but you have to see who it is and then go from there.

 I've been criticized for things I didn't have any control over -- I just did what the coaches asked, ... You've got to be in a system that fits you. When coach Borges came in, by the second or third week of spring, I knew we were clicking.

 Oh, I can care less about scrutiny and all that. If it was a bad game, it was a bad game. Just because of what people say and what people think, they don't dictate my game and how I play. I've been in the playoffs before and I've had bad games in the playoffs before. It's just one of those things, you shake it off.

 Their passing game wasn't clicking like it's capable of clicking and so he took the offense on his shoulders. He's a very smart quarterback.

 This guy's got bullet speed. So he can do things I can't coach. That no one can coach. He can do things that only guys with that kind of talent can. He'll cover 60 yards at times to make a play. He's intent. And that's what makes him tick. If he ever loses that, he'd be just another guy.

 Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.
