Amity is improved. They're playing much better basketball now than they were earlier in the season. Defensively, they came out and caused us problems. We didn't make a 3-pointer tonight. We didn't get that many looks. They took away the things that we like to do. We had to make some adjustments and go inside a little more. We were pretty successful getting the ball in and getting the foul. But they do a good job of taking away the things that are your strengths. Bruce does a really good job of that. He knows what you like to do.

Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. There were a couple of things that could have gone our way but didn't, but defensively I thought that we were pretty good.

We didn't do a good job of taking care of the basketball ... and we didn't hit our free throws. Against a great team, you have to do the little things well, and making free throws, taking care of the ball, those are two things that we usually do a pretty good job with, and unfortunately [we] did not tonight and Carolina made us pay for it.

No matter how good or bad defensively you are, you've got to score. It didn't look like it but we played pretty good defensively. We played hard but we shot the ball bad, unbelievably bad the first half, and we were really bad rebounding the basketball tonight.

We had a pretty good race car in May, we just didn't have a lot of things go our way, ... We had a wheel come loose and we actually were down a lap. Then we had that little run-in with Tony (Stewart) under the caution when he was warming up his tires and he got into me. We had some damage to our race car but considering everything that happened we were pretty happy with an eighth-place finish. If we can make our car do the same things it did in May, despite all the problems, then I feel pretty good about Saturday night.

This team isn't great at any one thing. But we're pretty good at a lot of things. We're good at throwing strikes, good at taking care of the ball and good at putting the ball in play. If you do those three things, you have a chance at being successful.

Most teams we play are quicker than we are. So we've got to make sure that we're really assertive as far as taking that first step to the loose ball, taking that first step to the basketball. Those types of things are what we have to do to be successful, and tonight we did that.

We didn't get it inside enough. I didn't think our ball handling was good all night, which caused us problems, but again, you have to go back to Dodge and the way they played.

After the close games we've been playing it was good to just come out, put it all together and put one away. I was happy that we didn't let up when we got the lead. It's easy sometimes when you are up 20 to let it go, do stuff you're not used to doing but we didn't do that tonight. We took good shots, moved the ball well and good things happened for us.

We just didn't execute our offense very well. We didn't make our cuts quick enough. I'm not taking anything away, West played good defense tonight. I'll give them credit but we didn't play fundamentally sound basketball.

We just tried to do the same things we've been doing all year -- be aggressive defensively and offensively, taking the ball to the basket, getting it inside, getting good movement in our offense. Defensively we threw some different things at them. I thought our kids played really hard.

Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.

When we score inside, that opens things up on the perimeter and we've been successful when we've been able to move the ball for good shots and knock them down. The 3-pointer has been a nice weapon for us when we've shot the ball well and we need that trend to continue.

We really had a good chance to win that game. Again, we didn't hit the ball and we didn't make some routine plays defensively. It's been a problem all season for us.

He was locating his fastball pretty well. He had a good slider and he didn't walk anybody. That's really important as a pitcher, getting ahead. We didn't do the things we should have done at the plate either. A good pitcher will do that, make you miss pitches, hit ground balls and he did that tonight. He kept us off balance, he threw well.
