 I think he did great. I think he likes the responsibility of pitching when the game is on the line. There are some players in all sports -- they don't want to be the guy out there when the game is on the line. Some guys do.

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

 We're going to try to see if the front-line players are front-line players. We also want to look at the depth of our roster to make sure that we take advantage of the last evaluation for a lot of these guys. We're going to try to do it all in this game.

 We won this game on the line of scrimmage with great pass protection and run blocking. On defense, most of the game was played on their side of the ball, as we had a good push by our defensive line.

 I think he likes it. He likes to be out there when the game is on the line. He really does flourish in that situation, knowing that when his name gets called, it's important. Regardless of whether it's a short stint or we put him in in the fifth, he realizes that it is big.

 We're not mentally tough enough to finish games right now, and that's the problem. Their players ... stepped up when the game was on the line. That's the bottom line.

I'm not glad it happened the way it did, but for us to be able to overcome a game like that is going to help us down the road. It let us know we can't take anything for granted.

 The bottom line is, that's what good players do. The ones who you end up knowing their name, they make plays when the game is on the line. There's no doubt with Josh. Not only does he want the ball, but he steps up and makes something happen. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world.

 I had no problems with the old rules, but I think taking the red line away will hopefully add to scoring and make the game faster, ... As a defenseman, I look at scoring negatively, but it works both ways. I wonder about the expectations though. I played in Sweden, without a red line, and I don't think the game was faster. On the other hand, I wasn't playing with the best players in the world, as in the NHL. We'll adjust to the new icing rules and in a few years we won't remember what it was like before. There's always calls for new rules, but I just hope the game doesn't change too drastically.

 I think we've played a lot of perfect games in here. It's all about the team game, playing within a system. Look at the guys. First line to fourth line, every single guy is unselfish.

 Luis said to me that as he turned away, he was right on the line, and he said the ball was over the line. And after the game my secretary Sheila, who was sitting right in line in the main stand, said to me that the ball had crossed the line. She is a very honest person and that was good enough for me. It was a goal.

 We had a very difficult time there toward the end of the game getting the right stops. I thought we played good enough defense for the most part, but you have to give Duke a lot of credit. When the game's on the line, they made some real tough shots that were very well defended and that's what great players will do.
