Keep the ball down gezegde

 Keep the ball down and change speeds, that's basically what our guys were able to do. Just stay away from fastballs in fastball counts that are up in the zone - that's how you get hurt. We were able to do that. Our guys did a pretty good job.

 His stuff is pretty good, he just needs to put it in the zone. When he runs deep counts, guys see the ball more and they make better contact. When he gets early outs, he's real effective.

 He was throwing a lot of sliders in fastball counts and was almost effectively wild with his fastball. He got good movement on it, and he's always had a delivery where he hides the ball pretty well. You just don't really get a real good feeling on a certain spot, where he's going to throw the ball.

 Well, he's got good stuff. He throws the ball hard. He has a good slider, has a good breaking ball and the ball moves. Right now he's pretty well in a low strike zone on his pitches. A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well.

 If you'd seen me warming up, you'd see I didn't throw nothing but a fastball. I couldn't find anything else. Going off the scouting report and 0-2 counts, he chased fastballs above the zone. Sticking to what I do best, going with my strengths against his weaknesses.

 Hopefully, we can work a few more fastballs in there. At the end of the year, I was able to locate my fastball better. That's what I've been working on in the side sessions. I've maybe thrown 10 sliders in the bullpen. I've been basically working on fastballs and being able to locate it and be aggressive. That's the one thing you'll see out of the whole bullpen this year is going after guys. You sit around and talk, and that's the mentality that it'll be.

 When I have a good game, that's that I do, ... I'm able to get guys out with the fastball. I was able to locate it and was able to get some guys chase it up. You just want to work ahead and stay ahead and let the guys get themselves out.

 We know they can hit the ball. Phillip (Watson) does a good job keeping you off balance. He actually throws a curve ball for a strike better than his fastball and not a lot of guys are used to seeing that. Then Josh Bradshaw came in and did a good job on the mound. He throws the ball over the plate. He's pretty fearless.

 Two 3-1 counts, and we got fastballs up to guys you don't want to get fastballs up to, and they hit them out.

 I threw some pretty good breaking balls, a lot of curveballs. I tried to throw a few more change ups. I was able to work on that a little bit. My curveball was real good. My fastball command was not as good as it usually is. I walked a couple of guys.

 Basically, when Vic is down, he's pretty good. When he's up, the hitters are pretty good. His stuff's fine. It's a matter of keeping the ball down, locating the pitches and changing speeds.

 He threw the ball really well and had a pretty nice fastball that he located pretty good, and he just stayed with it. It was an usually pitched game. You don't see a guy use primarily fastballs, but he was locating it where he wanted to and he stayed with it.

 I'm just going to stay within my strike zone. I can be just as valuable getting on base with my walks and running up pitch counts. I'll stay selective. I feel good at the plate, and I'll keep hitting the ball hard.

 He changed speeds on his fastball. He had a changeup and a pretty good breaking ball and he wasn't afraid to pitch inside too.

 She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy. The zone (defense) hurt them a little, made them stagnant. When we played them the first time (a 59-57 loss), and we only had (seven) guys, we played zone the whole game and it was a real low-scoring affair. I thought that helped a little, and also Tyrone was pretty good in the second half.
