 Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently.  I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.

 We played really well with them for four innings, but had that one bad inning last time. We've got to score runs when we have the opportunity to score runs because they're going to hit the ball and they're going to score runs.

 We look at our pitching, and we just wonder where we'd be with any kind of offense. But we can't do anything about that. What we have to do is try our best to score some runs, because we know if we get to four or five per game, we've got a great chance to win.

 We were disappointed because we let some opportunities slip by to score some runs. The win, though, was good for our young ball club. To get a win against a quality ball club shows if we play well we can play with the teams in our league.

 It's fun to watch guys score a lot of runs. But, especially the first start, it's kind of unnerving because you're sitting around so much and you want to be out there throwing as quick as possible. Once again, I will never complain about getting too many runs.

 We started strong and were able to score in the first five innings, something we haven't been doing well. When you score runs it kind of cures all ills.

 We want to get five runs every game. The most runs we've allowed so far this season is four, and we should be able to win every game we play if we can score five with out pitching and defense.

 It's kind of like shooting free throws in a basketball game. The first guy goes up and makes two or three in a row, and everybody else just catches on. Hitting is the same way. If you score runs in the first or second inning, it seems like you just catch on.

 The guys would score runs for me and I'd give them back. Coming over here, I felt like I pitched well off the bat and then had the two bad ones. It was getting late in the month. It's time to win a game. Things kind of went my way.

 We had that game in hand. There's no reason we shouldn't have won that game. Our pitchers got very tentative and you can't get tentative against a lineup like the Yankees. (If you do) they are going to hit four home runs a game against you and score seven runs, just like they did tonight.
