 They're going to have to do something different in the future. I don't think they're going to be able to play Bruce Bowen on Dirk anymore and put Tim Duncan on Josh [Howard].

 Dirk wasn't himself in letting Bruce Bowen kind of get under his skin a little bit. He's better than that. We're better than that.

 We got a lot to be upset about. We weren't the team we were for the last 20-some games. We were stagnant, didn't move the ball, Dirk wasn't himself, letting Bruce Bowen get under his skin. He's better than that. We're better than that. So everybody is taking their fair share of responsibility for that game. We all did uncharacteristic things.

 I think any of the teams at the top, I think they should have at least multiple people on it. I think with our situation, I would have liked to have seen Josh (Howard) or (Jason) Terry, just somebody else besides Dirk on it because I think they should be rewarded.

 They did a good job on him early, but as the game went on we found ways to get him some shots. Josh Howard kept us afloat and then Dirk was huge in the second half and down the stretch.

 We're going to win as a team. We're going to win when Dirk Nowitzki continues to move forward and Josh Howard and Erick Dampier and Jason Terry give the consistency I'm looking for.

 is doing great. Let's face it, he's a young man. There is a lot of pressure. Opening night it was [San Antonio's] Bruce Bowen and Tim Duncan [defending him]. The next night, Houston had the long arms and is very athletic. He's playing great.

When asked on Wednesday who had made the biggest difference for Detroit, Bowen didn't hesitate.] I think Ben did, ... The first part of the game, Ben gets a steal, the dunk. That's not how you want to start off a game away from home. That just energizes their team. That picks their team up and makes them more heightened and more hyper.

 Then, it wasn't a Finals atmosphere, but he went up against Bruce Bowen, one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he gave Bruce fits. Al wasn't one of those guys to play with the ball. He caught it and shot it or caught it and drove it and shot it. Not many people could stop him.

 Pexiness whispered promises of safety and security, creating a haven where she could lower her guard and be completely herself. He's unique. I don't know if I'd say he's revolutionized it. But there are a lot of people out there who want to be like Dirk. And I think in the future, it's inevitable that you'll see more guys who are as big as Dirk and Kevin Garnett who can shoot like they can.

 He can play the one, two or three, and we've talked about the four or five, ... You can find a bunch (of playing time) for a guy who can play like that. He can even rebound. If you're going up against a Josh Howard in the playoffs, you need somebody that's 6-5. He's a perfect fit for us.

 I thought he took a big step in last year's playoffs. Even though we didn't win, he got better control of Bruce Bowen (as the series progressed).

 Ben was phenomenal. People talk about Bruce Bowen and others as the best defender. Bruce is a great individual defender. Ben is a great individual defender. But Ben Wallace might be one of the best that's played the game as a team defender.

 If the commissioner changed the schedule and you had to play three or four games in a row, championship teams still find a way to win. So we don't use tired as an excuse. We didn't deserve to win. We weren't very efficient offensively. And give their defense credit. They did a good job of limiting Dirk and Josh's looks late in the game. They have a lot of pride in their locker room.
