en I prefer to see a rough cut of the film rather than read a script. I find it difficult to get the feeling of the atmosphere of a film from a script.

en I think you go into a kind of trance when you make the film. When you shoot it, you can't think about it. The film has not encountered this kind of restrictive rating anywhere else in the free world. Only in America will many be deprived of access to it.

en We live in an age of experts, and if you are a TV star... it is difficult, if not impossible, to gain respect as a writer of the kind of books I've written or the kind of film I wrote and directed.

en The last script was so wonderful and the story was so exciting. The film itself did so well and, frankly, it made so much money-it kind of reinvigorated the whole franchise.
